Well, I don't think I've seen any cameras that can work for any period of time completely wirelessly--wifi communications of video signals require enough power to kill batteries in a relatively short time period of time, so you'd end up needing to recharge them at least daily.

Another possibility would be what is known as a "trail cam"

    https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=trail+cam&oq=trail+cam&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8#q=trail+cam&newwindow=1&tbm=shop

Completely self contained and designed to motion detect with a PIR so there would be less triggering by passing clouds etc.

My advise, don't go for wireless camera. They are not reliable.

And best cctv I have come across is SWANN.
They are always on offer at Maplin.
I got 8 Camera, DVR (1TB) and also 4 Channel 4 cameras with 500GB. Both at different properties.
I can access both on my smartphone, can take or record on the smartphone as well. Email notification as well.
It's got built in peer to peer connection. Which makes it simple one touch smartphone set up.

Is it not an overkill for 'catching up' a neighbour just in one location?
