Hi there looking for a student copy of office as need word and excel any ideas where the cheapest would be?? thanks guys

If you have a student email address (with ac.edu? or the like) then your odds of being able to get a 4 year fully licenced legit copy of Office 365 University rocket up (about £60, I think). Although *exactly* what constitutes an Eligible Student is something MS can define to suit themselves... Also check if your educational institution is already part of the Office In Education thing (may be free, all cloud based).

I only know as I have one doing A levels & another starting GCSEs & both wanting Word & Powerpoint & it to be Legit. They're keen to be MS (It makes Christmas & birthday money reach loads further!) but they're very moral too & don't like LibreOffice. (Only took me three hours to download & install, but they were um.. in under 5 minutes - motherhood is No Fun some weeks.)

You can also use the free versions of Word and Excel. These are the on line only versions but are fully functional. (they are Microsoft's Answer to Google Docs/Sheets)

It is also worthwhile checking with your College or University as many subscribe to MS's educational platform which can offer free copies of Office 365 to current students for the duration of their studies. (along with the tasty 1TB storage in OneDrive)

EDIT : The online versions require a Hotmail or Outlook free mail account - which you will already have if you use OneDrive.
