IMPORTANT - EBay glitch

I was reading on the EBay discussion boards that there is a glitch where out of stock items are selling

I relisted a multi variation listing and double checked that the items I had sold out of were "greyed out" and this morning, I have sold one that is out of stock

There is no way I'm accepting an out of stock defect for this so will be doing battle with EBay later.

Edit : Spoken to EBay and apparently there is no glitch despite numerous sellers reporting the same thing, and the defect stands :(

I reported this about 8 weeks ago- I sold 2 things that were out of stock on a MVL and found at least 2 more errors when I did a stock check.

I have found one more since as well. I have phoned ebay at least twice about this only to be told that no one else has any issues.

They did suggest I was relisting wrongly, but I pointed out that they were GTC listings so if I start with 12 and sell 13 then it can be nothing to do with how I am listing- and must be a glitch.

On my private account I have also just had the postage glitch- the other one they deny. Item was listed with £3.78 MyHermes postage I know this for sure as I keep records now due to these glitches. It has just sold with MyHermes showing but with the postage I use for 2nd class RM small parcel of £2.80. £2.80 was NEVER on this listing, it is either £3.78 MyHermes or £5.99 RM 2nd class signed for.

All that plus another US INR this morning is making me consider closing down for a couple of days again to de stress. I'm certainly going to consider removing US postage as an option for a while.

  • The CS rep said that when I relisted the item, it went across in it's original state with all the items listed.

I know I checked it to make sure, and it was fine. Ebay is becoming a total nightmare

  • I had this problem as well with MV listing. Luckily I spotted it when adjusting the listing as my mum asked for one of the items. Am fed up with bloody eBay at the moment.

This has been going on for a long time. I have experienced the same, and there are many posts on the ebay forums stating the same. Ebays stance seems to be "there are no problems, it's your fault, suck it up"

    This is interesting.

I had suspected that the quantity sold thing was not working properly, but I only sell casually so didn't have proof.

I think it's happened twice, now, both times using the basic listing screen with quantity > 1. The items have been all sold, but the quantity remains at 1.

If it is the same fault as described above with the "pro" screens, then it must be something fairly deep down in the gubbins of eBay.
