Is it actually up for £7500 BeenThroughItAll?

If so that is top money for a really nice 61plate.

Actually you could probably find an above average 62plate for that money if you tried.

Pictures with the service light clearly shown?

To sell quick the price needs to be around £6500 I suspect.

I stand by my previous statement that in visiting WBAC the offer of around £7k will end up being chipped down to closer to £5500.

It is indeed up for £7,500.

The next ad is for a 62 plate from a garage with 45k miles for £8,750. Not sure how the models work for Citroen but it is a Platinum 1.6 HDi.

Probably haggle that down to £8k, so £500 more than the OP's.

Cars are notoriously over priced near Aberdeen. Not sure why maybe because wages are higher due to offshore jobs?

One of my school friends lives not far from there and said as much.

If a year newer vehicle in a newer spec (again I am not sure how Platinum compares to the VTR and VTR+ they used previously.)

My sister had a petrol manual Grand Picasso on a 60plate a few years ago and lost a lot when she sold it on.

The biggest issue I see for a quick sale is that people will look at the photos and see an unloved family bus.

Then see a newer one for little more than £1000 more.

For family buyers they would prefer a newer car that hadn't been abused by a family already I suspect.

And more and more private buyers are buying at Auction these days especially if they have cash in their hand.

    £6500 seems more realistic.

Or as already mentioned leave it with family to sell, then the time constraints are lifted.

think it was last serviced in Jan but is over on the miles

How much over on the miles? That would be a big no-no for me if it was a lot over.

According to Citroen, it should be done every 12500 miles on the 1.6HDI at that age.

So if it has previously been serviced bang on time at 12.5K and 25K, it could be as much as 7000 miles overdue its 37.5K - but that would probably mean it's done 18K or more in the last year - possible but I'd have thought unlikely for the profile of the vehicle. Who knows?

    Mmm.

    1.6Hdi.

Overdue service! Notice the comment, I think it was done in Jan? Was it actually done?

As a minimum it means the oil is well past its sell by date.

    Sounds like a hand grenade.

And most savvy buyers will likely know that already.

Had probably not been serviced since it was purchased second hand after Motability sold it off.

Would anybody on here buy a 1.6HDi equipped vehicle that has skipped or overdue services?

I wouldn't unless there was a significant incentive to buy it. Such as the price of a new engine being taken off the asking price.

Sorry if that is not what the OP wanted to hear.

But skipping basic maintenance on what is usually the second biggest family expense is crazy. And then to expect top money in a hurry is also being a little unrealistic.

I can get over £7k from any number of car buying websites so I'm not going to drop it more than that. I'm just looking for other options I might not have thought of.

You'll probably not better that so grab it with both hands.

No. And I would change the oil on a diesel far more often than the 12,500 miles recommended by Citroen, especially if the car is used mainly for short journeys.
