PCN - ways out..

I'm working as a delivery driver for a take away for some extra cash and got a ticket for parking in a loading bay :(

Yes I know I shouldn't have, but it was raining and was empty with not much traffic about.

And yes i'm looking to get off on a technicality, morally wrong probably but I can't afford to fork out £35!!

On the ticket the reg is showing as:

DV04 ARP

Whereas my reg is (example):

OU04 ARP

Am I right they must issue notice to reg keeper within 14 days? Or does this PCN simply act as that..? And if so they are obviously not going to be able to send me photos so perhaps by time they look at the photos the guy took it would have passed the 14 days....

Using GSF website the reg number they hold appears to be invalid...

Oh I don't know, maybe somebody here knows....

Council ticket, or private parking company?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Given that you're dealing with the council, doess your number plate have the standard font and size for the date they were fitted?

Details can be downloaded from https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle-registration-numbers-and-number-plates
  • Yes it does. It's probably the original from factory even, nothing personalised about the plate design. Think the guy just misread it with it being dark and wet.

As we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Here's your link:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=30

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate).

PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.
