I can assure you that there are no cosy cartel arrangements between Optoms and big suppliers. If anything, I wish there was, because in reality, it's the other way around - if anything, there are favourable arrangements with big online suppliers and supermarkets to the extent that we could buy certain products from these suppliers for far less than we can direct from the manufacturers.

I appreciate things may appear to the layman and that you are posting with good intentions.
But, if you don't know what are talking about, perhaps you should refrain from comment - the lens scratch thread is a another prime example. It can often do more harm than good.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

The poster on that thread might be skint and not able to afford £200 for new specs.
I've been there myself. I restored some old specs using armor etch to remove the coating. They are now crystal clear. But if they aren't coated, it will make a pair of usuable (albeit scratched) pair of lenses unusable.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I am currently wearing a pair of uncoated specs that i uncoated maybe a year ago and i have no issues with them.
