Back to bigdavecox90's original post...

So planning a getaway for 3 to Disneyland Paris around June 2016.

I'm assuming booking directly via their website would be the most expensive option.

Any ideas on where to stay? Best place to book? Best method of travel?

All ideas appreciated to make it the best, but cheapest experience possible.

Thanks, Dave

    Hi Dave!

How long are you planning on going for? if its longer than 3 days then one option might be to buy annual passports for you all.

We did this in August 2014 and ended up returning another 3 times in the year so we really got our moneys worth out of them!

The annual passports give you access to both Disney and the Studio parks as well as discounts on merchandise and restaurants. They start from around €179

We've never stayed in a Disney hotel so I can't comment on those, other than to say that they are quite pricey!

The first time we went we stayed in a Gite about a 15 min drive from Disney and that cost us £450 for the week.

Our 2nd trip we stayed at the Dream Castle Hotel which is very close to Disney and has a regular bus back and forth to the parks that run regularly. (actually all the hotels we stayed at had a free bus service) We stayed 3 nights and it cost £450 inc breakfast, but this was Christmas so we wanted stay somewhere a *bit* nicer.

3rd & 4th Trip we stayed in Val d Europe which is a short drive or bus journey to Disney, Or in fact train ride, Val d Europe is 1 stop from The Disney station. We stayed at the Adagio hotel and Hi park 'apart hotels' which basically is a hotel with basic cooking facilities which meant we could make our own pack lunches which saved a fair amount of money and drove into the parks each day. (takes 5 mins)

Best method of travel for us was to drive! we took the Eurotunnel and once you hit France its about a 3 hour drive. We prefer to drive as you can take as much stuff with you and not have to worry about baggage allowance or dragging suit cases around train stations etc. But that's just us, the Eurostar takes you direct to Disney from London very quickly and you can just sit back and relax so its up to you really! and of course your budget!

I would have a play with the prices on Disneyland website and see what comes up for they dates that you want, there is a LOT of refurbishment going on in the parks so lots of ride closures and this is reflected in the prices for 2016. I would also price up your holiday on other Disneyland websites eg the French page www.disneylandparis.fr . Each country has a different deal and some work out lots cheaper than the English site. all Tickets are emailed so it doesn't matter that you don't live in the country that you book through.

I seem to have gone on and on! haha! hope some of that info is useful!
  • Thanks for all of the information. It's a great help.

I'm thinking a 3 or 4 day break, so expecting around the £500 mark?

    Hi,

Here is the main Disneyland Paris thread -

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/527819

if you read through the most recent half dozen pages or so, it will give you some ideas of where to look, whats there, how to travel etc.

Then if you have any specific questions, fire away on there, I'm sure you'll get replies :).
