in Credit cards
My current account has been with Lloyds for over 20 years and I got their Duo Avios credit cards some years ago. I'm thinking about ditching Lloyds for another current account. Does anyone know:
1. If I don't have a current account with them could I still keep the credit cards with them?
2. I've just read that there is an annual fee for the Avios credit cards. I don't recall EVER paying a fee. I wouldn't have taken it on for a fee (I get barely any avoid points as am not a big spender). Does anyone know if this fee is for newer accounts or have I been missing something major?

Your current account and credit card are separate products. Closing one has no effect on the other one. There's a fee currently of £24 for standard avios duo and £140 for the premier one. You need to check your paperwork if you pay the fee as maybe in the past it was free?0

A quick Google found me a page from November 2013.
Lloyds Bank unveiled an overhaul of its Avios-earning credit cards yesterday. It is ‘goodbye’ to the old Duo credit cards, although the free version is still available via TSB. You will remember that these came in two versions – free and with a £50 fee. The difference was the Avios earnings rate and a 2-4-1 voucher (economy flights only) on the £50 card.
So the Avios Duo card(s) you currently hold are indeed "annual fee free".It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I have had a Classic account with Lloyds for 28 years now since I first started working. I also have the Duo Credit Cards but don't pay a fee for it.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Doesn't the old version charge for overseas use too? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Many thanks all. That's reassuring. I'm sure if they changed it to fee paying I would have been notified.
Heng Leng - I never actually used my credit cards abroad so don't know about the charges, never looked into it.0 -
I have the premier duo one, and have never been charged a fee.0

so maybe on that basis it is worth keeping?
and why are you looking to move away from your Lloyds current account? Club Lloyds is a good account in several respects. perhaps look to retain and open an additional account elsewhere if that works for you.0
