Does a balance transfer happen automatically

I got accepted for a mbna balance transfer card.
When filling application in it asked for name of company and account details of which I wanted to transfer.
I got accepted and was given a limit smaller than amount I wanted to transfer.
I got accepted for £1000 limit.
Will mbna transfer it or will I need to do something,

It usually happens the next working day depending on when you submitted the request. But may take a day or 2 working days to show on your statements.

As for your other question, it might be worth speaking to MBNA to find out what they would do in those circumstances.

If you wanted to transfer more than the £1000 limit offered, it may not happen. Best to call MBNA and check. Remember, you can only transfer 95% of your limit with MBNA, so a maximum of £950 including fees.
