Ah - Karmacat - I'd rescue you from spiders if I was close enough- I quite like them and will happily pick them up (except the false widows we found in our garage!)

I had given notice of my intent to leave as Treasurer at the end of the year at the latest (ideally Oct/ Nov) but after a disagreement with the Chair I said it was best I left immediately. I will do the banking I have here from yesterday's event and get the records up straight which are here but anything going forward from now is nothing to do with me. I'm not even going to volunteer there - I disagree with too much - although I am a Trustee for another almost 2 years. I think I might look at volunteering with foodbank or similar instead in the future - and *just* volunteer, not get involved at any other level. It's (resigning) definitely the right thing for me to do - my family and I are(perhaps somewhat selfishly) more important to me than the charity :) x

After the shed clearance yesterday, today we've attacked the racking in the garage. Many car cleaning items OH no longer uses have been boxed up ready for the tip. The remaining ones have been boxed and labelled as car cleaning. Several duplicates, unsurprisingly. A load of random junk binned/put ready for recycling, including about 20 bits of 'might come in handy' wood. Some has been retained, but we rarely need bits of wood. Have kept the longer, better quality bits and the small stuff and rough stuff will be ditched. Large pile of stuff to go to the tip, OH says he will go early next Sunday as he didn't fancy his chances this afternoon.

A fiddly job of fitting trunking for the wire for the cat flap (microchip one that runs off the mains), has finally been sorted, only taken about 2.5 years of it trailing across the floor getting trodden on.

Still got a large cupboard in the garage to go through but we've made a good start.

:) I've just gutted out one of my hanging files and discarded obsolete papers related to a bank account, shredded the confidential bits and put the bumpf parts out for recycling. Lighter and tidier in there now.

Well done everyone! Some great results.
Yes, GQ, I have found that even one slice of bread messes up the diet for a whole week, much like you say with sugar (I can easily do without sugar). I stayed the same weight for about 4 months, 3 of which i felt vaguely unwell. Looking back I think it was hormonal. The other month was while my tooth was fractured but still in place ( now have a temp denture, it makes me feel very decrepit! but i can laugh about it :)) - made eating very difficult so i ate bread in small quantities and no salad.... Now I can eat according to a low carb diet that seems to work for me.

Today I managed to do quite a few smallish jobs, which are always good to get out of the way, but spent a lot of time in the garden, taking in the sun :D
I did sort out my cleaning supplies ready for the week ahead, and once again admired the new shelf/basket arrangement. I am a bit obsessed by how well this has worked, aren't I? :rotfl:

The only thing to push forward because it didn't get done, is sort out the surplus skirts*. It was just too lovely outside to think about being indoors!
    * and the dusting!!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Enjoying reading the kondoing activities of everyone, I find it motivational :) I've sorted my desk and a bookcase - lots shredded and a black bag filled. Feeling much better!

That's the positive form - I call that "self centred", not selfish. Otherwise, we end up being martyrs, and no one benefits from that, not in the end.

LBM over the weekend: (1) now that my cleaning vinegar stash has dwindled to only 7 bottles, there is space in the nice box that holds them; (2) there are several bottles of dishwasher fluid (sorry, I forgot the English term) in the shelving system in the garage, next to the flour, taking up 'food' space. Solution: move the dishwasher fluid to the box with the cleaning vinegar! How simple can it be! I'm happy :) I even managed to fit one bag of dishwasher tablets and a box of dishwasher salt in the vinegar box.

Someone at church brought a laaaarge tin of nice biscuits, and when they were all eaten, offered me the tin. Let's see...what will fit into that? Maybe I'll keep it to store hm cupcakes, it looks like it will hold 16 (undecorated) cupcakes easily. Or all the girls' beads, or some gardening paraphernalia, or sewing equipment. How happy can a tin make you? All these options for storing!

Slinky - I'm sure your surplus car stuff, bits of wood and the Justin's would be snapped up on freecycle and save you trip?
DH just collected some logs and odd timber from DS1 ready for the winter. Most of our neighbours now know we'll take any large branches so win win! No real Kondoing lately, o oh weeds as I've been working in the garden while the weather holds.

:) Yeah, I really like bread but it doesn't like me, sigh. Never mind, I'm eating luscious food and the weight is just sliding off, 1 kg in the last six days and I sure as hell don't 'do exercise', just gently pootling about my activities.

Trouble with starchy foods like bread and sugary things is that they seem to have the ability to cause the overgrowth of sugar-loving gut bacteria which, in their turn, stimulate the desire to eat more sugary carp so they can expand their colonies. There is a whole universe living in our guts. fascinating to read about it.

And as for finding out that bread has a higher GI index than flipping chocolate, and that there are opiate receptors in our brain where gluten molecules dock to give us that carby buzz..................! The same chemical buzz as hard drugs, fer cryin' out loud.

:o My name is GQ and I'm a recovering sugar addict.

My 'new' blouse attracted some favourable comments and another 'new' one will have an outing tomorrow, I do so love shopping my own wardrobe.

Couple more items added to the CS bag today and a couple of items of clothing to fabric recycling (collected weekly by council) OH has also sorted a jacket from his wardrobe to go - worn once, so I may try selling (navy linen, so perfect for this time of year) Various bits of paperwork recycled/ added to chiminea as appropriate and more will be going later this week as I work my way through (although it's almost end of term for the 3 boys, so I seem to have lots of school stuff on this week and next week)

Just about to tackle a large pile of ironing whilst OH sorts the smalls for bed :)
    xx
