Wednesday, I hope your cat is ok? Did she need a check up at the Vet?

No, she was fine, she had just got caught and we entangled her. She got her claw caught up in the net curtains a few times too. We had to get rid of them in the end!

Phew, it's been too hot to kondo!

I only had 1.25 hours of cleaning today, my other clients all wanted to go out!
So I have carried plants, then planted them!, checked out the grass seed at local garden centre (declared to be too expensive by client so didn't have to lug that!), visited 2 x CS's where client bought, among other things, a beautiful skirt for a pound (if she changes her mind I'll buy it off her :)), visited sm for a coffee and shared a cake.

Not a bad day's work, eh?

Ooh, and last night I got to walk our neighbours gorgeous dogs because he was unwell. They are so well behaved, it was a pleasure :D

ETa - need to make it clear that neighbour is OK, and the pleasure was playing with the dogs, not his being ill of course

:p I wasn't even thinking about the legal aspect, I was remembering the many many incidents I've heard about from people who own these blasted things; the over-passage room is a bedroom, typically, and has a giant 'cold spot' under it and is cold and plagued with damp and mould. Some owners have found these rooms unusable.

Persons with a garage/ carport under a bedroom can experience some of the same joys, I hear.

My previous (newly built) house had a long bedroom, with a garage underneath. It was colder than the rest of the house, despite two radiators. Also, when I started the car engine, fumes went up into the bedroom. Good job I always drove in and backed out. I'd had to reverse in, the effect would have been even worse.

In addition to the mould in the house, because I live in an area surrounded by fields, we get mould spores blowing in during the late summer/early autumn. I asked a pharmacist why I was getting hayfever in the autumn as well as the spring/early summer and she told me it was due to autumn mould spores, lots of people had been in for antihistamines. It gets worse when there is little rain to damp down the spores.

Finally got round to listing some unused Tupperware on a no fee selling site. Happy for it to sit there for a while & see how it goes. A couple of my pieces are uncommon as they were promotional items when I used to be a Tupperware agent - back in the early 70's!! Hope fully they may make a little dosh instead of cluttering the cupboards ;)

    Kondo'd the wayward tooth :(
The dentist was kind, it was done quickly (didn't really feel like ages while the unpleasantness was on-going!), and the post op notes say I must rest for a few hours so DH is doing tea.

I think I'll settle for a drink served at room temp and may just have to have a custard tart later :) (there is no gap-toothed smiley emoji!).
I have a temp false tooth so I am speaking slightly oddly atm  The tooth looks ok but I reckon it will be a pest eating with it in because it is on a very small plate. I already wear glasses for reading so just the hearing aids to get now :rotfl: Here's me thinking i was a young middle aged person. Seems not :rotfl:

I am at Glastonbury. I have bought a "thing". 😲 my OH says i now have to get rid of 10 things.

    I said that wouldn't be a problem

Then he said not his things....
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Glad to hear you finally got the tooth done, MMF007 - yes, be careful about your false tooth; it feels odd at first but you'll get used to it. Those ads for denture fixative, showing people eating very cautiously, suddenly had new meaning for me!

Thanks Polly. The appointment was moved twice so it was a great relief to get it done but, yes it feels odd and no, I have no confidence in using it. It's too soon anyway, must be patient! We are on a quite long drive this evening and tomorrow and for the first time ever my picnic bag will contain some salt and some bottled water for the necessary 'swilling'!

Up early-ish to write packing list, put laundry on and clear boiler cupboard for gas engineer to do annual service.

I have an emergency custard tart awaiting for elevenses :)
