maryb - I use the ecover all-purpose cleaner diluted in a spray bottle too. And on the floors. It just smells fresh and clean, and as you say, no coughing! I do also have the linseed oil floor soap which smells divine :)

Kittie - I buy ecover etc in the 5l packs too... I do the same with my Suma shampoo and conditioner, which takes rather longer to get through!

greenb, ethical superstore by any chance, they often have 20% off everything. Thats how I got my chocolate stash too and faith in nature. Just had a shower with their shower product, chocolate! almost gave it away but it smells just like chocolate. I love suma products and was a member of one of their very first co-operatives, in kendal in the 70s. Open sacks and bags to pack. Those were the days of cranks and the awakening of wholefood awareness

Managed to Kondo two clumps of Arum Lillies to DS yesterday and transplanted some self sown Pulsatilla to a better spot. That was my sum as I kondoed almost a whole morning on the 'puter looking for parts for DH's trike - did get him sorted though. Bag to go to the CS today and Kondoing dust!

There's a lot of cobwebs (or @rse bunting as we call them) here at the moment. I think the dust I've been making with the angle grinder has settled on them and shown them up more......or maybe I just fail to notice them as often as I should.

Kondod a pair of jeans that I'd saved for decorating, they were wearing a bit thin in the inner thigh area and went with a good old rip yesterday. I have another pair to use up and chuck too so hopefully they'll be ready for the bin too by the time I've finished.

    :) Morning all.

Sorry have been MIA as not on the pooter since Sunday evening. Decided not to use it on Bank Holiday as really wanted to crack on with stuff inc lots of gardening, and then have either been at work, out, or reading a compelling book before and after work. Finished book last night. So, you've got me back again, you poor s0ds.

:j Have been doubling down on the healthy eating and have managed to displace 2 kg of flab in 6 days, and have bought my first pair of jeans in years. OK, they're still an 18 and stretchy, and my proper size is a 16, but wearing them is making me happy and at £2.99, if they don't fit more than a few months, they can go back to the chazzer.

Interesting debate about w.u.l. I'm on the last part of a bottle of my usual brand - Aldee's magnum - and am planning to buy Eciver's next and get the bottle refilled at the shop. I tried clothes washing at 30, as recommended by the box of Formil, but found it gave a poor result so returned to 40 degrees. If I have a nasty stain, particularly if it's oily, I massage a small amount of neat w.u.l into the dry fabric before washing and this shifts it. This is particularly helpful if you aren't able to wash the item immediately, I find. Such as the time I threw a large amount of cooking oil down a pair of pale trackie pants, just after having caught up on all my laundry.

Wasn't going to run the washer just for them, so did the w.u.l thing and washed them 5 days later and every bit of the oil came out.

:o The drain saga - ah, the drain saga. ARGHHHH! They attended on Tuesday (I was at work). I followed up on the outcome after work on Weds as there was no improvement indoors. They'd opened up another hatch around the block and rootled in there and found no problems. They're being sent back tomorrow to get into the rodding point right by the problem and deal with that, hopefully it will resolve the issue.

One of my neighbours did get charged in an identical circumstance and was so tired and ill he chose to roll over and pay it, even though he couldn't see how it could be his responsibility. I wouldn't have been so forgiving and would challenge. I will cross that bridge as or when I come to it.

Re putting things down WCs/ plumbing in general, I honestly think wet wipes ought to be banned, they cause so many problems in sewers. And as for the folks who shove disposable nappies down the loo and cause neighbours' loos to back up sewage into their bathrooms.........! It frankly frightens me that people so ignorant, stupid, careless and lazy are raising kids.

Also want to report that i have adopted the 15 minute dash as a way to get stuff done when i am inclined to sit down when I come in from work.
I set myself a few little tasks as soon as I get in, that will get good results. It is surprising that once a few things have been dealt with i am inclined to carry on for bit longer and do plenty more.

I try to do this too otherwise i end up being overwhelmed with everything i need to do at weekend. I am trying to get the kids to do this as well but it only works if i nag them!

I wash all but bedding & towels at 30 deg, using F@iry or P3rsil bio for whites, bedding & towels get washed at 60 deg. When we met, DH reckoned he can only tolerate @riel on his skin, but didn't have any problem with my bedding ;) It turned out that his washer programming was at fault (constant use of quick wash = a detergent build-up!) There are only two of us, with non-manual jobs, and just our allotment clothes that get really grubby.

Waitrose currently have a three for two on Ecover WUL £2.40 for a litre bottle So £4.80 for three litres. Tesco and Morrisons don't have a multi buy but it's cheaper if you only want a single bottle £2.00 per litre. Hope this helps
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

:) Thanks maryb, I'll look into that. The only accessible Tosspots to me are Metro stores so don't always have the best prices but Waitrose is miles away. I'll check the local health food shop's prices as they offer a refill service, but only if the original bottle came from them.

kittie, regarding the email scam, a couple of years back, I had an email purporting to be from a woman I knew slightly. It claimed she was stuck in a far-eastern city with lost bank cards and asking for money to help her get back to the UK.

I knew for a fact that she was about 1.5 miles up the road at home and texted her to say scammers were using her email account. She said several people had told her already and to ignore it. These things are very plausible and it's easy to see how some get taken in.

Morning all. I've been a silent watcher but still here.

New work routines for us, and weekends away have meant that just getting us all through the day washed, fed and where we need to be on time feels like an achievement :rotfl:

The final frustrations of DS2's disorganised wardrobe (he stuffs things in there despite my protests) meaning that he had 'no more school uniform and I've looked aaaalll through it for more...' saw me tackling the mess last night. A pile of CS clothes, bits to save for my sister's boys, bits for the bin, a laundry bin of dirty stuff that he'd stuffed in with the clean and, hey presto, the missing school uniform... now sees a tidy wardrobe again. Mental note that I'm going to have to keep on top of him/the wardrobe

Re phosphates, I hadn't realised there were environmental issues :( I have truck loads of washing, cleaning and toiletry stuffs to go through but new purchases will be done with more care.

I haven't yet sussed why they are in the things we use or how to spot them - anyone know?
