Merry christmas everyone hope you all are in good health.

Re the washing up ,I've found since kondo started I've done it as I go, so when I've eaten breakfast the knife and bread board will have been washed before I ate, then the plate and cup when I finish.
Also at night I wash my cup and straighten the room up ,plump cushions etc. I find I can't settle if there is something that needs doing! I find myself trying to watch TV whilst thinking when the break comes on I'll scoop the cat litter and put out the recycling! If I'm on my own I just pause tv and do it but if oh is there I tend to wait with my fingers itching to be up and at it!!
Had a lovely family Xmas, and only received joyful gifts , new cordless d¥$on and leaf gobbler with new secateurs as the spring kept falling out my others! Dd1 got me earrings which I asked for a neat everyday style and a swarvoski pen.. And dd2 got my sanc£uary body products that I'd run out of.

Put hotpot in for tea with extra dish with potatoes scallops that will go with fish tomorrow when I finish work. Had a sorti of the freezers in garage, as kittens frozen food had arrived and oh and shoved in any old way whilst I was working. I threw out some burgers that had been in there an indeterminate amount of time plus some of my glutenfree rolls as they are not nice and I put off using them so they are just cluttering up as I'd rather go without than eat them!:rotfl:

Hope the new year is joyful for you all x

Well we kondo ed DB, sil, the kids and cute dog, who are wending their way south (we travel tomorrow, staying an extra day to get the bedding washed and remake beds, tidy etc). Everyone had a lovely time and we partied for 3 days! As most of the contents of our car were presents for our visit we shall return with far less stuff :D:D

We are looking forward to getting home, one day off, NYD with the in laws, then back to work onBHMonday for me.

  • I'm enjoying the subtitles on an interview with Marie Kondo on You Tube, which gives her system as "The Calamari Method". :rotfl::rotfl:

Gotta love some of the phonics that come up!

Ah, the Calamari method, that's why it is so appealing to us dieters!! :rotfl:

  • I have read the book and found the concept to be very interesting...I am an historic hoarder who actually finds hoarding stressful and needs to have a huge clear out. I love beautiful things and all things Hygge so the concept of keeping lovely and useful things and getting rid of everything else really appeals to me...but where to start. I did make a start with this method back in the summer.....'Clothes' and must admit it made a big impact to literally collect all clothes together and keep only the nicest, best, most useful. But then...I fell off the wagon!!! So...back to it tomorrow - determined. My goal is to use the next 6 months to get my house decluttered and into a somewhat sellable state - looking for a downsize/new start for me and my boys after a split almost 4 years ago. Think its time to start afresh on the home front! will be reading through this thread regularly and hoping I can stick with it this time!

Today I kondoed my old TV and stand which was the old sort and very heavy, which had finally failed on Boxing Day. It cost me £15 to be taken away, but as I live in an apartment with a lift only to the floor below me, and no car, it was well worth it.

I now have my first flat screen TV and was glad I had not got rid of all my electronic bits and pieces because I needed an extra aerial, an HDMI cable, and an ethernet cable. But I really didn't realise I had 3 extra aerials and at least 3 ethernet ones. I nearly sent off for an HDMI cable but while reading my youview book it mentioned it came with an HDMI cable, and when I went looking for it, there it was with a hand written label on it I'd put on it the last time I'd seen it!

I have Kmed my fancy smancy coffee machine to my son as it is taking up too much room and I have stopped drinking coffee. I could put it under the sink for Justin Case but would rather it was used.
I gave in and ordered an electric blanket and the delivery company said it has been delivered to a secure location but as I said to Am£z£n in my best Christmas voice "O no it Hasn't " so am not holding my breath tho it may mean another free month with prime.
The delivery company is contacting me in the next 2 hours and Am£z£n is calling me in 3 hours. :T
  • When I was putting away the tree I actually decluttered some more stuff that had been lurking in the boxes I hardly ever look into! :D

One thing I wanted to do was to buy one nice necklace that I can wear every day so I can get rid of the costume necklaces I have. Nothing expensive, just minimalist, classic and joyful.:)
