I am in awe ,,,,,,,I got home about 9.30 last night and had a bubble bath. Everything aches, my hands are sore with wings and dings and splinters, I have a thumping headache and I will be starting a call centre shift at 9 am. I am so tired I could almost fall face first into my breakfast bowl - am eating brekkie now - and my household is at sixes-and-sevens and the groceries aren't here/ aren't in right quantities.
It's a muddle and a half but the parental home is reduced to goat paths between piles of Stuff from Nan's and I was so glad to walk out the door with two trollies full (mainly of donations) and get away from it all.
ETA; to clarify, I had to move several boxes and bags in the hall so there was room to get my wally-trolley out of irdoor. It's insane there. We'll be several weeks processing all these things into the right places. And then, mes amies, an overheard convo between Mum and Dad intimates that they will be doing some serious decluttering themselves (!)
Cross-posted with Slinky - yes, I have hopes and theirs is a hoarded house.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

. For the funeral. Always sad..
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I am typing this on my lovey new shiny keyboard. The old one still worked, but about 50% of the letters had worn off the keys. I can touch type pretty well but it was difficult for OH to use on 'search and peck'.
The old one has been kept for Justin, but I do feel I'm wise to do this, as it still works, and I have had a 'cup of tea meet keyboard' moment in the past. If that were to happen on my work deadline day, without a spare it would be inconvenient to say the least!Make £2025 in 2025

Morning all
Glad the garden is bringing joy and you are settling in sweetpea
Siebrie glad the funeral went as well as those things can
GQ hope that things start getting easier for you soon, it does sound as if you are the one who does most of the organising and the lionshare of the workload.
Hope everyone is as well as can be.
Dd3 lives in a top flat (four floors up) the flat below hers had a fire in their kitchen last week so lots of dd and her partners stuff is smoke damaged with the fumes tat have come up through the floor and the vents. I'm on clothes washing duty for them and have promised to go round for an afternoon of scrubbing down.
Eldest ds went to a concert last night and had his mobile phone stolen by a piece of scum. He missed then missed the last train home as we had no way to contact him and he never thought to ring landline, one of his sisters partners drove over to meet him from the train that he had missed. So we all spent the night worrying. Thankfully he made it home just before work, so has gone off in a foul mood with no sleep. Phone and sim have at least now been blocked and I'll be nagging him to report it to the police tonight not that it will help but at least they'll know that the concert was frequented by thieving scum. This is the second time this has happened to him I'm going to tell him to put a mouse trap in his back pocket the next concert he goes to!
Plan to kondo the ironing pile today as I've only got short shift today.
Hope everyone get something joyful in their day.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all,
I had Friday off so I could get all my ducks in a row and that included taking all my bin bags of clothes to the clothes skip thing. I then also started listing the remaining stuff on eBay. Few bids already and some messages of interest, happy days. I would say I'm about 75% finished my Kondo'ing which I'm delighted with. Hopefully manage a couple of hours again this weekend.0 -
Another DVD watched and in the CS bag last night, another book finishe dthis morning that's gone in the pile for my mum. Dh decided on two tshirts and a shirt he won't wear last night so they are in the CS bag. Some mags went in recycling over the weekend and some more are going in today.SPC~12 ot 124

GQ - sounds as if you've all pulled together to make sure that bungalow has been handed back, spick and span, which is a lovely gesture in your Nans memory. Make sure you take some time out to rest and get your mind and body in the right place for the funeral. These things take so much out of you.
No kondoing here today, I have the flu, proper full on achey, can't get out of bed flu. Even getting across the landing to the bathroom is hard work. DD1 has just taken DH out for a few hours and whilst he's not here he can't be fussing about trying to help me when he's not able. Being a carer and being stuck in bed with flu don't mix. By the time they get back, DD2 will be back from work so today is covered."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky, lots of fluids and plenty of rest for you. Hope you feel better soon.SPC~12 ot 124
