  • I do get to a point sometimes where I have had stuff to sell but have just not had the time and it does just go to the charity shop and I'm pleased to see the back of it. I'm running out of things to sell now which is a good thing as it shows that we are at a point that we are happy with the amount of things we own and they are things that we enjoy or are useful and do get used at some point!

I have a big box for the charity shop of stuff that hasn't sold, actually been in the boot since before Christmas and will make it's way there when the schools go back next week, along with bits that don't sell on the site tomorrow.

I have sold a few bits on FB and Gumtree, but that got to a point where people were saying they wanted things, they then didn't turn up. I also would rather not have people coming to my home to collect things where possible, so Ebay works for me. My local Hermes shop is in my local big supermarket, so this works well for me, especially now as there is not a permanent courier currently in my area, so when I have arranged a pick the person doing it has turned up when I have not been expecting them, so parcels are not ready!

I enjoy selling the things and it keeps me busy in between fostering placements!

I'm going to jump right in and say hello having lurked on last years thread and taken on a lot of the KM approach there is still a long way to go in this house as RL often seems to get in the way. Christmas has seen the little monkey receive no less than 5 toot toot sets amongst other things, enough to stock a small toy shop!!

January's big projects are the pantry and my very own room of doom, so I will be around a lot to keep me on track.

Happy New Year one and all. Off to catch up xxx

Going back to work on Monday so thought I had better do some tidying. Have cleaned and vacuumed the bedroom. Still a pile of Christmas stuff to be rehomed, DD2s books and stuff being stored until new carpet goes down and the pile of engineered flooring. Everything else is good.

Those of you who have just started- the flooring and DDs stuff are all part of Real Life. Lots of the ladies on here seem to have similar issues but we all manage to cope with them. I think it is the joy of knowing all the RL carp will disappear at some point but in the meantime we can enjoy our knicker drawers.

    Hi Lizzie b.
I did my under stairs cupboard in November. I painted it and wallpapered one wall. It is tiny just big enough to hang a few coats, leave work and school bags and have a small shelving unit to put the 'office' stuff on. I love it though. It is easy to find what I need in stationery, looks pretty and is my 'vision' for that space. The gas man can even read the meter easily without having to pull out loads of stuff.
Lizzie before you start your pantry I would advise picturing what it is you want to achieve. It really helped me. If only the rest of the house was as easy.

Thank you GQ :D So a match and a can petrol is about the best I can hope for then :rotfl::rotfl:

Dont think Dads is too bad really. The cupboards are stuffed but there is space in the rooms. But I have never seen so much storage in a flat in my life. Small hallway 2 walk in cupboards one with shelves and one that I have never got to the back of as its so deep so no idea what is lurking in there.

Main Bedroom a bank of fitted wardrobes 7  in total plus tons of drawers etc. En-suite another walk in cupboard which has hoover and loads of other stuff in.

Spareroom a bank of 5 wardrobes and a 2 door storage cupboard.

Main bathroom fitted in storage where sink etc is

Kitchen loads of kitchen cupboards and a huge massive walk in pantry (which could fit washing machine tumble drier plus a dishwasher as well ) if you wanted too. and full of shelves on the other side :D So every bit of storage in the flat is built in so no being able to get rid.

I always wanted a house with loads of storage now I would hate it as they would be empty :rotfl:Could play a good game of hide and seek but that about it really :rotfl:It is a big flat and high ceilings and everything hidden in some cupboard or other :)

So I will do a bit at a time reckon I will get a few laughs which will keep me going ;)

  • Hubby's home, but after starting work 4 hours before we even got up he's having a quick cat-nap after dinner! Hehe.

I'm feeling motivated and am going to steal an hour to make sure our bedroom is back in order after Christmas visitors and our son having to spend the night in our room on the floor as he's the one with the queen bed for visitors! Poor thing - he doesn't mind, but I'm sure kipping on the floor in mum and dad's room won't be cool for many more years! ;)

Oh, and we're viewing the house we may like on Monday evening after I finish work...

If anyone sees any really cheap deals on nutribullets will you give me a shout? My daughter is hopefully off to UNI next year so am thinking about putting together some essentials for her and as she loves making smoothies this would be one of those.

I bought a Breville on the go blender before Christmas which makes me a smoothie every morning. I have never bought or used a Nutri bullet but I *think* this very cheaper alternative works just as well.

:)Mavvy, lots of cupboards would be a dream come true for me. Not because I want to hoard loads of Stuff, but because I would like what Stuff I have to be hidden behind plain doors, so I could enjoy feasting my eyes on wide open spaces and running around without bumping into Stuff and furniture.

Ach well, dream on, I have a tiny flat with very limited storage and that's a great form of discipline.:rotfl:

We're limbering up as a family for the carload of carp I shall be hauling out of here tomorrow. Early lunch, then whizzing off up to the home city, to offload into the flat, then Dad will whizz back again as doens't like driving after dark so much at his age.

I plan to immediately take the first installment of the Stuff down to the chazzer (open for a few hours on a Sunday). It will take several trips to get everything down there and I am anticipating a couple of weeks to get it fully-resolved, as I will have to work and do other things, too.

Kid Bruv has just loaaned me a box set on DVD (which I can watch on my pooter, don't have a telly) and which I'll give back to him in a few weeks. I've read the first of my Xmas book collection (the library one from this county, rather than my own library which doesn't have it), book 2 will be from my library, then a run of secondhand and charity books until I get to book 14. The bought books will go back to kid bruv (he sells them online) and by the end of several months, I shall have had the experience of all 14 books and NONE OF THEM will be in my keeping.

I've ordered the new MK from the library, they'd listed it although they hadn't yet got it. Can't wait...........:p

The Christmas tree came down this afternoon so I went through the decorations stash and managed to throw away / recycle some and there is a pile for the charity shop.

Also sent a small storage drawer my Mum's way and a bag of small toys for the shoebox appeal for this year coming.

My daughter came to visit and I sent her away with some saucepans and cutlery to furnish her new place. I haven't properly visited those areas yet but it was nice to clear them without thinking too much which will make it easier when I get to those categories.
