Everyone seems to have started the year with such enthusiasm. Well done all. I'll get back on the wagon once the menfolk are back at work and school.

Icey - I was going to suggest nursery/school. I'm in school and we are always running out of underwear as it is seldom returned.

Thanks for the links on previous pages, I love the quotes.
Despite having finished Kondoing before Christmas, the house has slipped a bit - stuff I received as Christmas gifts needs a home, there's some additional food and drink that isn't put away and the Christmas decorations are getting me down now, I want them out of the way. There are a few areas that need review. I'm aware that when I did some categories my mood affected how ruthless I was, you really do improve your skills the more you do this.
Also, I did clothes nine months ago, before I'd Kondoed the full time job, I wasn't completely sure what I'd need going forward. As times gone by its very clear that my needs have changed and some of isn't useful and is pretty joyless!
The really weird thing is that I'm looking forward to it. Doing the filing, emptying a drawer out, throwing out stuff actually calms me and makes me feel more positive. When I started this process it was the most stressful thing I could think of! How I've changed. I do wish she'd write a weight-loss book ... :rotfl:Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

Hi all, I started Kondoing before the arrival of our 3rd son but haven't done any for a couple of months and I'm starting to notice that things are getting on top of me again. Stuff has crept in over Christmas and obviously all the baby clothes that we didn't have before. I kept a lot from my other 2 sons so we are reusing lots of it, but I need to have a plan in action for what to do with it once this little one out grows it, as we're not having anymore!
I'm going to attempt to sort the kitchen cupboards tomorrow as they have got rather muddled and I want to do a meal plan for January!Grocery Challenge 2024

Womens refuge often desperately need clothes for babies and children. If you don't have one near you and can stand the cost of postage have a look here http://www.carolinehirons.com/p/give-and-makeup.html
I don't have children, but I am sending a parcel of unwanted toiletries soon.

Another great idea for the disposal list on page 1 MM. A great way to get things to really give joy to someone in a refuge.
I was very curious about what is in our leader's new book and I found a link where you can see some pages: http://tidyingup.com/excerpt. It made me feel happy that I could buy an electronic copy as it looks like the illustrations aren't in colour. I hope this helps other curious fans who don't want to have to store a book! :rotfl:Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Hi guys,
Those of you who are decluttering by selling how do you decide what to sell? With ebay and paypal fees its making it difficult to get rid of things and I'm always asking myself how long will it take it to sell? Some of the things I feel guilty about as my parents passed me down things for my future kids...not sure what to do any advice would be useful...0 -
Happy new year everyone,
I kondoed some xmas decorations today and sorted out some paperwork.
I also did some wool as i did a little knitting too.
Unfortunately i won't get anything significant done until the middle of next week when OH goes back to work. I suppose every little helps.
Keep up the good work.

Hi dreamyp
I'm afraid that is part of the reasoning why I've stopped selling and spent last year donating to CS instead. Easier for me as I'm in control of when it leaves the house, using grey queen's model of having pages on the go and taking them to the CS often. I feel that will then bring joy to the charity when it makes money and to the new owner who lives the ideas of taking X home!
My only practical advice on eBay is to suggest you search sold items and see what similar items have sold for and hour the postage was priced etc.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
