I'm doing a few upgrades and had my heart set on a Intel Quad q6600. However I starting to wonder if it's a bit of overkill. At the moment the most my pc is used for is Mixing and editing music . Along with the usual letters , emails , watching films , listening to music and web browsing ( no Gaming). I would like the upgrades be good enough to last a few years . So should I go for quad Q6600 or will dual e6600 be more than enough for what I need ?? Any one had any experiences with either of them and what do you think of them ?
any suggestions/ comments greatly appreciated.

E6600 will be more than enough for your needs, I use my E6600 for video editing which needs more grunt than what your currently doing and I'm more than happy with the E6600 for my needs - it's certainly keep me going for a few years - Only thing I'll expect to upgrade on is harddisks.0

Cheers Lakeuk - I've gone for the e6600.0

If it's compatible with your motherboard, get an E6750 instead.
It's £10 cheaper than an E6600 (on eBuyer anyway) & better. G0
