Hi all.
First post here. Here goes.
I am writing as I need some advice from you all.
I closed a Barclays account 6 months ago by telephone.
I don't have the confirmation letter.
However, I received a letter today stating I was £75 over my agreed £1000 limit. I thought it was closed!
They have been charging me 75 p a day since. The first letter I receive from Barclays was two days ago. Saying I am £1070 overdrawn.
Who would you recommend I speak to for advice about this issue.
Thanks all.
Jim

I would pay them and then report them to the regulator otherwise if you don't pay them your just going to get into debt more and more.
I know its not fair but if you can't prove you rang them and informed them of an account closure then they can do whatever they like.0 -
Even though it's the last thing you want to do, I'd firstly pay them, to stop you getting into anymore debt, as if it doesn't go your way, your only going to get yourself into more debit with them, after you have paid them I'd then submit a complaint straight away with Barclays, explain the situation in full, they must respond to your complaint within 8 weeks, they also must write to you informing you that they have received your complaint. If you're then unhappy with the result of the complaint, you can then raise a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service, which is a simple process you can do yourself, or you can get help with this from Citizens Advice.0

You cant complain to the regulator. That isnt what they are there for.Who would you recommend I speak to for advice about this issue.
