Claiming back PPI - help please

Hi there
Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice here, I have had various credit cards in the last 10 years, and I have no idea whether I was paying PPI or not - which makes me think I should see if I am owed any money. I am not sure of the exact dates these were held - do I need this to make a claim and is looking back at my credit record the only way of obtaining the dates?
Many thanks!!

Credit card PPi appears as a transaction on the statment (either with the retailer transactions or next to where the interest amount is charged when you borrow on the card). So, it would have appeared on the statements. Plus, its only charged if you borrow on the card. Not if you clear it each month within the interest free period.I am not sure of the exact dates these were held - do I need this to make a claim and is looking back at my credit record the only way of obtaining the dates?
You do not need the dates to make a complaint. You are not owed money. The process is that you make a complaint giving your reasons for complaint and they look at that and decide if you have a case or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I did borrow on the card, but how would I know if I was paying PPI if I no longer have the statements to check? Sorry.. these seem obvious questions!0

Best thing to do is ring the card provider and ask them. Most put their complaints telephone number on their website along with info about complaining about PPI sales.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
