They still need time to price establish before applying discounts ahead of Easter. With it being earlier this year, the products will be in stores a little earlier.

That's exactly why they put them out so early. People will buy some several times (and eat them!) between now and Easter instead of just the once when they actually need them.

It's not due to Easter being earlier this year, it's been like this for years.

When I worked in a supermarket in the 90s, the cages of Easter eggs were out the back, ready to go out on Boxing day.

Sainsbury's was giving out samples of Hot Cross Buns today.

I know Easter is earlier next year but can we at least have a few days off?

free publicity they do it on purpose so people post on places like here then people dont believe and will go av a look & end up buying something

I remember being in the confectionary aisle of Morrissons , on Christmas Eve, some years ago, when a shelf stacker said, 'I can't believe I'm putting out Easter eggs on Christmas Eve. We haven't had Christmas, yet.'

Then, you can guarantee, on Easter Saturday, some customers will moan only the expensive ones are left.

My work sell Easter eggs, but not out at the moment. Always the Lindor or Ferreo Rocher £10 eggs left - all cheaper ones sold out
