I use the timer setting on my leaf too. its lovely to get into a warm car. My son swims and I can put the heating on as he finishes and its warm for him getting in the car, I even do this from home if y hubby has taken him. The app is great.0

Despite doing 15000 miles this year, I haven't been left stranded either. I have had the predicted miles showing as ---, which was a worry as I was still 9 miles from home. But I made it.
Also, with the breakdown cover you are given, they will retrieve you twice in a 12 month period should you get stranded.
I just regret that EVs are getting so popular as I've had a queue 4 times now for a charging point. This has all been in the last month. Before that, I never had an issue.
I also like to challenge myself. So, if I know I'm gong somewhere where there will be charging points, I won't fully charge my car the night before. Its great coming home after a day out with a higher charge than you left the house with!0 -
You should include the vehicles value and depreciation though
OP bought the car for £11,000. How much more depreciation are you expecting?
£5,000 of the new price is a grant, which you can basically wipe off the value of the car as soon as you drive away. And I doubt that they will obtain anything like the 90/120 miles range.
They will - 90, not 120.
Zoe - 60 winter, 80 summer is a much better, conservative guess at range. I just did 90 miles on a charge before Xmas, but I rarely, if ever, drive it at 70mph.The message was fairly clear, the range is less than claimed. He liked it up to the point it left him stranded 50 miles into a 70 mile journey to a very important meetingAnd browned a few owners forums.0 -

My mother's commute in their Ampera is nearly all downhill- so if starting out with a partially discharged battery, it has more when arriving without even stopping to charge :T
Obviously coming back uses it all up again though!Nationwide FlexDirect, TSB Classic Plus and Santander 123Nissan Leaf on the driveQuidco ProfessionalMatched betting £163 up so far0 -

Ampera only has 4 seats
One slightly longer trip we do quite often is a slightly hilly motorway and even letting it slow to a speedo 60 (really 54) on the up hill it still hammers the batteries.
(Although one thing I need to do is check the tyre pressure, never going to the petrol station means this doesn't normally happen.)
WE don't have car wings but keep it in the garage so no cold mornings for us whatever we drive....I think....0 -
Our leaf is on the 129 per month all in lease deal from last spring so we have it another 16 months. WE will want electric again but suspect that sort of deal won't be repeated so we may well buy instead but have no feeling of what depreciation and maintenance charges will be like for an old leaf or zoe Ours will be 'worth' 13k after 2 years according to the pcp but it seems you can get 2 year old ones for about 11k and the oldest ones (2011?) are about 8k. It will be interesting to see that those 8k and 11k cars are worth over the next year or two.I think....0
