  • Moving forward:

Jan - Final balance transfer. Tax return. Move house.

Feb - house deposit returned and work bonus. Reduce OD limit to 500. Start freelance bits n bobs. Ebay selling spree.

March - *shrug* I dunno do a little dance or something

April - Payday on 1st. Start budgeting 4 week pay to last full month (will have 1 month buffer after a year)

When OD fully paid - Switch current account for better interest rate, switching bonus would be nice. Start saving for Christmas/hols. Start paying off other debts.

Haven't yet decided whether to spend on credit cards to pay off the overdraft sooner or to just leave them alone.

Phwoar... 2 hours sleep is not enough :(

Had a look at PAYG today and I'm going to switch. Contract was up 6 months ago and I can't afford to upgrade because I'd lose my old discount, but my phone still works fine, so keeping it isn't an issue. I'm paying just under £20/month and I could cut that to £10 easily!

Plan for tomorrow then. Cancel contract, and go through those old bills I didn't get round to yesterday. Off work for 6 days now. Time to make a start on sorting/packing... not sure if I'd prefer to be at work lol.

Royal Mail redirection cancelled. Lucky it was still within the cancellation period. Will wait until I get confirmation of cancellation before setting up new one for new moving date. Managed to change the van for only an extra fiver - best we could find, original company wanted to charge an extra £50 just for a different day of the week! Honestly, I try to be organised for a change and end up bloody well cancelling and rebooking everything!

524 days to DF (determined to stick to this now)
  • So much for PAYG. Contract switched to sim only, keeping my discount so it's £12/month for 12 months. And doubled my data allowance! :rotfl:
Would have had to be very careful and reduce my usage on PAYG so an extra £2/month not to even have to think about it is worth it. More fun this way. And maybe this means I'll have the option of keeping my discount if and when I do upgrade?

Off to sort those boxes of paperwork I've been avoiding. If anyone wants me I'll be sitting on the floor watching netflix surrounded by bills from goodness knows how long ago. Maybe I'll update later with the oldest thing I find...

    523 days!
  • Paperwork avoidance is still going strong. But I have emailed Tesco asking them to change my clubcard address, unfortunately I lost track of changing the address at some point when I've moved, so I've given 3 previous addresses and hoping they can sort it out from there! I was trying to log in to check if I have any points, but can't remember my password and I can't reset it without my postcode, and it's not recognising my current one or any of my last 6!!! I know I've had vouchers in that time

Follow up complaint email sent today after 'where is my order' email sent on the 2nd. Paid for order on 27th november! if I still get no reply after a week I'll start a paypal dispute. Thank goodness I paid with paypal or I wouldn't know where to start on my own! Hopefully that will be another £29 back soon. Bah. Hassle :(

Finding it hard to keep track now. Going to have to keep a list.

Tv licence refund - find and email final bill
FC - awaiting email reply (open dispute if not)
Clubcard - awaiting email reply re address change
Royal Mail - awaiting cancellation and refund. To rebook.
House deposit - to arrange with landlady
    Claim - send info sheet
Tax return - by 31st
    Get keys - 28th
    Moving day - 29th
Return keys - 31st (to arrange with LL)

I haven't budgeted to spend any refunds so know I can manage until they eventually turn up. Also haven't budgeted anything for tax return but pretty sure I did very little freelance work 14-15 so not worried.

TV licence won't be sorted until I find a final bill however. Really must do that today. And if my p60 turns up while I'm at it, even better. Wonder if I can request a copy of an old bill if I can't find one?? Also signed up for bounts last night, they've upgraded me to premium for 2 weeks, really should make the most of it by going for a walk. Hoping to get enough points to get a fitbit on amazon, if I wear it at work I can get even more points ;)

OOOOH while I've been writing I've had a refund in response to my complaint! They're claiming they emailed me before and got no reply .... pffffft rubbish. I've been watching for emails from them, little liars! Well at least that's one off the list! Refund goes to the cc I paid with... which is already in credit!:rotfl:

Recalculated my DFD: 31st March 2017. Just 444 days! That's on my basic income, no overtime, and living frugally. If I could boost my income by £80/month I could clear it by the end of the year. I'll have a think about that one...
  • I think I should get a job where I do the planning and other people do the doing. I'm good at one and terrible at getting round to the other ;)

Anyhoo. Off work for a few days, so to do today
-Reset bounts password and then immediately remember original password *doh* - done
-Install a tracker app, leave the sofa, leave the house and earn some bounts
-Buy crumpets because I ate every last one of the pack BF bought :p
-Paint nails (for reasons of fabulousness)
-Final balance transfer to barclaycard (will leave cc in credit but it will all spend over next month or so and help to leave OD alone)
-SORT THROUGH THAT PAPERWORK AND FIND A FINAL BILL AND P60 OR SO HELP ME
    *Ahem*
-Actually sort through that box o' junk and pack, bin or recycle everything in it
-- ^persuade BF to bring in the cardboard boxes he's had stashed in his car for days so we can use them^
-check credit report and if ok:
-switch 2 DDs to little OD
-pay off little OD with big bad OD
-apply for shiny new tsb account, switching newly paid off account

Bit of a new plan on the ODs then; I was going to pay off big bad OD first because it's costlier, but the cashback for switching deal ends on 8th feb and I won't be ready to close this account until March/April. The £100 will more than cover any extra interest I end up paying in that time though, and it means I stop paying the account fee on little OD sooner. It will feel nice to have one complete debt gone as well I think, even if it is only transferred.

Alright then. Plan planned. *attempts to leave sofa*
Hmmmm maybe I'll start with the online stuff

-check credit report and if ok: - barclaycard experian register thingy not recognising postcode. hmm...not like I'm applying for a credit card
-switch 2 DDs to little OD - done
-pay off little OD with big bad OD - done, undone, reminder set to do next week before switch starts
-apply for shiny new tsb account, switching newly paid off account - done, switch set to start in a few days to make sure DDs are in place

and budget updated with all transfers etc

Now I really do need to leave the sofa :p

Apologies to anyone who has read any of my diary, it's not very exciting but it's dead useful to keep track of what I've done/need to do, especially while I'm in the early days, cut and switch everything stage! I don't know what I'd do without this and my budget app this month, there's balances flying about in all sorts of directions :rotfl:

Guess who did everything yesterday except for the thing she's been putting off all week?

*sigh* that tv licence refund is worth quite a bit

Today's plan is to sort that, batch cook and start packing - starting with the boxes of !!!!!!. Don't want any of those in the new house thankyouverymuch. Also get on top of the dishes and washing. I've asked the letting agents twice if the washing machine is included in the new house, they say they'll ring me back and then don't. So there could be a last minute big purchase coming up :/

Spent only £4.69 yesterday and earned £100 for Feb. Not bad really. NSD today and earn a big fat refund?
  • Good planning Choccy!

My diary is a mad ramble of paying this to move that blah blah...it's really useful to be able to go back to it and remember what the plan was!

I have a bills box of my own here that's waving at me :(
