2 in 1 laptop?

Options
Hello,

I'm looking for a new laptop and have been thinking about getting one of the new 2-1 laptops.....but are they any good?

I'll mainly be using it for internet, film watching, music (I do have a 2tb external hard drive so I run itunes from there) and a few office things (basic word and excel)

Any recommendations or thoughts on them would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Jenny

These come in a few types:

The hybrid ones such as the Surface Pro one can detach the top part from the keyboard cover and it becomes a tablet, plug it back together and it becomes a small PC again.

The convertibles are the ones that have a screen that either swivels or tilts to become a large tablet. They don't separate but they can be a bit of a pain to hold in Tablet mode for an extended period as you'd be carrying the entire weight of the unit.

It's a bit of a trade off really the hybrids aren't particularly powerful but they're more portable, whereas the convertibles are more powerful but bulky when used as a tablet.
