I would aim to speak to 02 with a "oh, I told CPW that I did not want to continue the contract, did they not pass the information on" conversation in a hope that they give you an account credit/discount.
    Good Luck,

That's exactly what I did, they were having none of it.

Quick update, I have decided I'm going to send a hand written letter to the complaints department.

I'm sure if this falls into the right hands there will be some sympathy in the decision.
  • Have you actually cancelled with them yet. Dragging it out is just costing you more money in the long run.

Yes, they cancelled over the phone but stated I'd receive another (final) bill.

    UPDATE:

As mentioned, I typed up a letter that expressed how I felt misled by the system and the stress it's caused me.

Instead of emailing, I printed the letter off and posted it because I knew it'd have more of an impact.

A short while ago I received a call from o2 and they have now showed sympathy and understanding.

They have processed a full refund for both months.

    Persistence people, persistence :)

    Well done!
Now you can go into your next contract wiser, and not fall into the trap they know catches many out.

  • You could've done a direct debit indemnity claim as banks usually process these and (fail to) ask any questions later. The basic issues would still remain though about credit fill and amounts due etc.

    Good result well done!
