Hi all
So I receive Fallout 4 for the PC for Christmas. The next day my hard drive dies.
So I go buy another and install a fresh copy of windows 7. (Wanted a good clean up anyway)
However, windows just couldnt 'see' my AMD Radeon R9
Googling showed very bad advice stating the graphics card is dead!
I put a amd 5570 in and that also wasnt playing.
I decided that perhaps windows needed to update a little first. Then I managed to get the 5570 to show a higher pixel rate, but not 1080P
Tried the R9 again with no such luck
Put 5570 back in and managed to get the drivers installed and 1080P up and running.
Put R9 back in and that showed a lower level of pixels but at least it was doing somrething now.
Eventually managed to get the driver installed and all is now well.
Does anyone have experience with getting windows to 'see' the PCI-E graphics cards and how to go about making the transition as painless as possible?

The main thing is probably making sure the BIOS is set correctly to use the external card only, that & drivers are the main culprit for getting Gfx cards up'n'running......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Its the R9 I wanted to get working. I only used the 5570 to help. And neither update direct from AMD worked to start with:idea:0 -
HiYa RIK the God-Wallah R9 Nano drivers may be a better bet, try Angel Trinidad's structured official AMD Omega release. They give you a lot more 'hands on' tweak which of course can go down a peg if you need to. I don't have an R9 or Win7 so can't directly comment mate. best of luck me old mucca.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
