Best dry shampoo?

  • Another vote for Batiste. I tried the Superdrug one a few years ago and it was absolutely useless. I only use it on my fringe and top part of my hair though and it transforms the appearance until the next proper wash. It only gets used once a week.
  • The only dry shampoo I've managed to get on with is Bastiste (other than the Klorane, which is amazing but out of my price range!).

Slightly off topic, but whilst we're discussing it...I read a tip somewhere to spray it into your hair before bed then brush out in the morning and find that this suits my (very fine) hair much better than spraying it in and brushing it out in the morning, I get more volume and my hair feels less 'powdery'.
  • Yes, I always spray it on last thing at night, and give my hair a comb through. It's always fine in the morning.
  • Will definitely try night-before application, never thought of that before, thanks:)

I was using Batiste until I purchased Herbal Essences dry shampoo. I found it better for my dry-colored hair.
    ally.
  • Lesser-known Batiste dry shampoo is definitely the best of the drugstore brands– it is fairly cheap (about $8), the spray is powdery instead of wet, and the mild, pleasant scent dissipates after a few seconds. With all the rave reviews online, I was hopeful that Batiste would be my winner. But, again, the Batiste does not soak up oil quite as well as my favorites below. Ulta carries travel-size Batiste dry shampoo, and I bought several mini-cans and do use them when I travel.
