Is it cheaper to go throught insurance company?

if you to your Kia to the Kia main dealers and asked for it to be repaired to pre accident condition, and the guy next door took his BMW to the BMW main dealers for the exact same repair who would come away with the biggest bill?
you can bet your life that parts, paint and labour rates will be higher at the BMW main dealers
if you are talking about an older car that has fallen out of the dealer network then a smart repair or a back street body shop repair may well cost the same for most marques
I agree, however it's not for someone to crash into me and then tell me where and by whom to have the repair done for their convenience.0 -
i would personally want the issuance company to deal with - But i know they will do whats easier for them - and if its means Replacing the bumper at a cost of £800+ they will do that instead of a respray at £200-£300..!!!
if i was to contact the insurance company to get some advice - like to find out if the drive car was insured - but not make a claim - will they still keep that on record and will have have to declare it the next i renew in insurance?
i am too scared to even ask them this question - stupid i know..
i am starting to realize that the insurance company are not really there to help me.0 -

Whether the other vehicle was insured, doesn't negate your responsibilities.
No need to be scared or worried that your premiums will go up, (they will go up anyway) for now you can just notify them, and if the other party wishes to claim they can do so against the policy.0
