Scrounger Saves 10k+ a year.
I get roughly £15000 a year in welfare and a extra £5000 if I do less than 16 hours work a week.
I have a down-syndrome related disability without the physical abnormalities.
I can't drive well so I am limited to finding work within my local area which is a rural village but there is a industrial estate near it so there is a possibility of a couple hours work which I am exploring. I will get no penalty in loosing my welfare once I switch over to universal credit on the condition that I do between 1 to 16 hours hours a week.
I am doing volunteer work at the moment in my village to show people in the industrial estate that I am capable of doing some things.
At the moment I am able to save £10,000 a year.
I do this by following a strict budget of the following:
Mortgage £154.00
Home Insure £11.17
Council Tax £0.00
TV Licence £12.50
Electricity £30.00
Gas £10.00
Water £9.00
BB & Phone £13.37
Grocery £130.00
Travel £0.00
Total Costs £370.04
I save around £900 a month. I am serious I am not joking. If I am able to get a job I will be saving £1300 a month or £15,000 a year.
I have a mortgage which allows me to make unlimited over payments so I overpay whenever I can.
I think I will be able to complete my mortgage in either 1.5 to 3 years. I am in the 2nd year of my mortgage.
I think I am one of the most fortunate disabled people living in Britain today because the majority of disabled people with similar conditions to myself either are in care homes or are living in terrible poverty.
My next challenge is to sort a car out once I pass my driving test. I'm not very capable driving on motorways or busy roads but I am getting to the point where I can manage a commute to the nearest town by driving on the country roads where there is high visibility and is usually very quiet. There are lots of jobs in my nearest town and all I need to do is get 16+ hours a week and then I can get Tax Credits/Universal Credit.
My dream is too make out of the ranks of the Scrounger and become self-sustainable.

Good luck and welcome.
I hope you don't mind me saying this but why are you calling yourself a scrounger? That sounds a bit Daily Mail and unfair to you. Anyone who is physically impaired should not feel ashamed.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Because I am. I'd rather take the slurs and make them my own that way I can never be offended by them.0 -
Good for you and once again welcome. :j

Not many people know this but the Earth is moving into a mini ice age again. There is a increased wobble which has led to 30 degree dispositions at winter solstice which either result in extremely cold winters or hot winters.
Its pretty easy to tell by frequently keeping track of star signs and measuring sun position/moon position.
Be prepared to loose a couple tiles because British weather is gonna get like it was in Norman times.0 -
Flippin' heck I don't want to lose any tiles.
What did the Normans do to avoid problems with their houses? Didn't the rich ones live in castles what about the plebs? how did they cope? We did the Battle of Hastings at school when I was 12 in history. That's all I know. And the Magna Carta.
Have you had a good Christmas?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
What about your mobile bill and your bb and you only spend 35 a week on shopping and do you save on yout fuel bill?“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I have a Japaneese Koatsu which is literally a blanket between a table frame and table. There is also a heater underneath but I don't need to use it.
I sit snug in a corner in my room with the laptop and I feel super warm.
They are brilliant things. I am in the middle of turning my spare bedroom into a Japanese relaxation room so I can meditate and try and self reflect.
Groceries are down to £30 a week now.
I got a good boiler so I don't spend much on fuel. I also have a Ultra Low Voltage Laptop so I don't use any power hardly.
Look at this.

:eek::eek: why are you funding the corrupt peedo BBC?
Cancel your tv licence immediately, your tv works just as well without one.0 -

Because I don't want Capita Goons at my door. If they pester me there is a good chance I will end up in prison and they will end up in hospital. Its mutually beneficial.
Now as for the Avon lady she got scared off years ago.0 -
They have zero powers to enter your home, in this day and age no-one should be paying this ludicrous licence.
You call yourself a scrounger but you're giving money to one of the biggest scroungers, the corrupt BBC.0
