Hi all. I was just looking at my gas meter in my garage and notice that the label shows it was exchanged / replaced in 1992 way before we moved in, in 2005. Does anyone know if my gas provider are obliged to replace a gas meter within a certain time scale and if so, is it done free of charge. My electricity provider, who are different to my gas provider replaced my electric meter last year free of charge after they contacted me. Kind regards Mark

Every 10-15 years. Free of charge.
Npower have been getting them changed in my area.0 -
More like at least 25 years or longer for an Imperial meter. There are large numbers of them of them around still. Its just that they are not guaranteed to be accurate.0

Mine has been done after 15 years. They were probably worried it was under reading!0
