Help I'm going to scream

The kids bought my other half a m8 droid player for Christmas got home today and I thought I would set it up. They are not here and he is not very tech savy, I'm not either but I'm better than him. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get the bloody thing to play movies using show box or kodi. I thought it was just plug and play !!
How wrong could I be

well its hard to diagnose over the intiweb , HOWEVER


1: are you logged on to your wifi or inserted a Ethernet cable in it?
2: kodi or just a platform , just like windows is , what programme are you using to watch films
3:, your films or onlne films?

perhaps showbox is broken , do you have alternatives like genesis in kodi , /video/addons

I did try Genesis but that said it couldn't stream

ok , question is "why" you cannot stream , as the unit is working , back to cable please , what type of internet do you have ?

Maybe some of the streams you're trying are down. It can sometime take a few attempts to find a working stream.

The problem with using the illegal pirate streams is they can sometimes get closed down or blocked by your ISP.

Check your connection and make sure that the box has been setup with either WiFi or ethernet password .
If you are using Kodi there are multiple sites with advice regarding this media player .

Its far from plug and play as you are in effect not paying for the services and relied on some guy in his bedroom to stream stuff to you .

ok , test channel , fully legal:


"not film on" shows "freeview" channels and is WORKING , if its not listed as an addon , goto settings/addons/install from repository/all repositories/video addons , and scroll down to install it , and indeed run it


IT IS WORKING at the moment , and has for 12 mths , as I have no TV ariel
