I've had 4 NSD's this week but had to spend £50 at the vets this evening. I may need to spend more but hoping it wont be too much. Overall though have done very well this week.
  • Well my Mr T bargain hunting went well tonight. Got £44.66 worth of groceries for £11.80. Not a coupon in sight, it was all reduced stuff.

Highlights include 2 x 600g steak mince for £1.40, £3 pizza for 90p, tin of shortbread £4 reduced to 75p, cold meat £3.06 for 90p. Also stocked up on reduced bread, rolls, crumpets.

Food plan will be done based on what we bought tonight. We will probably use one of the minces to have spaghetti bolognaise or chilli during the week.

Evening all and a warm welcome to all the new peoples :hello:

    ...............
I take home just under £600 a month so need additional income of about £100 a month to make things stack up. For the last 2 months I have been doing this through doing ms-ing - but jeez it's so dull! ........

  • Does anyone else do ' save the change' with their bank?? Lloyd's have a thing where they will round up any payments you make to the nearest £, and put the diff in a separate saving account??

Also I have a cc with nothing owing on it, and they have sent me a letter saying I can have money transfered to my current account for a 3% fee with no interest for 12 months, I am thinking instead of using my money to make the most of the tsb 5% interest on the money in the current account, use this money, and would still make 2%

To me being frugal is also being frugal, and squeezing very penny out of the money you got including it making it work for you...

Using money to make money is always good.

Oct 2014 I had a couple of probs with my bank (their fault) and as compensation they offered me 18 months interest free on my cc. I have maxed it out and bunged it all in 5% TSB accounts - making interest on it and it's there to pay back if I haven't raised enough to pay off the cc by the end of April :D

  • I had a problem with the of internet banking, and it was the lady on the phone that mentioned it's their 5-5-5 accounts

5% cash back ( which you lovely people gave me the heads up to)
5% interest paid monthly on funds up to £2000.
5% on their saving account when you deposit up to £250 per month for a year..

We worked it out if you have £2000. In your current account you will get approx £7 per month
The savers account if you put the Max in every month that's approx £55 interest at the end if you are a tax payer..

So will a bit of juggling think it's a win, win situation..

I like making money out of other banks money lol
