    Hello SJ :hello:

Thank you so much for stopping by, lovely to have the support. I know that I've read some of your diary, will subscribe and keep up with you too. Well done for getting your mortgage below the 60% and great that you can make unlimited payments. I do find it frustrating that S4nt4nder have changed the rules for next year and reduced the amount that we are allowed to overpay. I have seen lots of people on here that make the most of higher interest accounts and regular savers, I guess this will be my next step. It worries me that in the past we have been so frivolous with money and trying to hold onto it to make a large overpayment at the end worries me that we most be disciplined enough to see it through.

    Hello,

DH is working 2 overtime shifts this weekend. As he is away I have had a very productive weekend giving the house a thorough cleaning including my least favourite chore the bathrooms and also the ovens. Also found time to enjoy a couple of lovely walks with the “girls”, it’s usually dark at this time of year when I walk them in the mornings and evenings through the week so love the weekends when we can go out in the daylight.

I have the breadmaker on and have also baked cakes for DD packed lunches this week. We used to spend £15 per week on DD school lunches, being organised with taking lunch from home has made a big difference especially as DH also takes them now.

DH managed to negotiate a reduction in the boiler cover of £80.34p so I have paid an additional £80 to my pension fund.

Spending on keeping DD occupied during half term hasn’t been too bad and included the following activities:

    The Globe Theatre
    The Victoria & Albert Museum
    Cinema –DD paid
Book signing with Grace Helbig combined with shopping trip – DD paid for new trainers
2 sleepovers with friends – one of which included takeaway pizza and chips

Overpayment on the mortgage made of £2,643.

    Hello,

Thanks Tilly, hope all is well with you, will be catching up on your diary tomorrow.

DH has worked 2 overtime shifts again this weekend, he is away now until Tuesday evening.

I cooked a large batch of chicken curry yesterday for the freezer but haven't been very productive this weekend, feeling a bit down about work. It was a dreadful week and a close colleague has filed a grievance against our CEO and handed in her notice, dreading going in tomorrow. Also have a meeting on Tuesday which is going to be unpleasant, if it weren't for the fact that I am on this MF journey I would hand my notice in too. I haven't even read any diaries this weekend, will be catching up during the week instead.

No unplanned spends this week which was good and an extra £160 to my pension fund this week as no council tax to pay in February so a little spare money.

HI LL, those are some fantastic numbers for Feb, well done and also great to see you have used lack of council tax efficiently.. I hope you are feeling really pleased with the progress, I know I would be with those figures xx

    Hello,

Thank you for the support lippy, I have subscribed to your diary.

Work has been dreadful again this week, being on my MF journey gives it a purpose though so focusing on this and haven’t quit yet.

DD came home from school early one day this week as she was ill, unplanned spend on some medicine but that was all this week.

A lovely morning spent at a local NT property yesterday walking the girls.

Whilst out shopping yesterday afternoon I went to a card shop and picked up birthday, anniversary cards etc for the year, much cheaper than leaving it last minute and buying from the local shop, cards much nicer too.

DD had a friend stay over and they went shopping but as she used vouchers that she received for Christmas to buy a new jacket it didn’t involve any spending for me.

DH working 2 overtime shifts this weekend.

I have baked cakes for DD and cooked a batch of chilli con carne for the freezer this morning.

A large bar of G&B dark chocolate received for mother’s day, very happy :)

    Hello,

Quick update for last week, not much to report.

DH worked 2 overtime shifts at the weekend.

I walked the girls at a local NT property Saturday and Sunday morning. Unfortunately managed to lose one of the girls' jackets on Saturday morning, retraced our steps (gorgeous weather so enjoyed the longer walk) but couldn't find it so will have to purchase another one - will probably buy two as I like to dress them both the same - not very MSE. The girls can be quite expensive sometimes, last year I had their teeth cleaned by the vet, - £400! Their teeth are brushed every day now :)

My Dad visited Saturday afternoon and we had a lovely catch up, he brought pork pie and sausage rolls again, not very healthy.

A chicken curry and a bolognese cooked for the freezer yesterday, cakes and bread made. Also found time to cut the lawns whilst it was nice and then sat in the garden with a book for a while which was lovely.

DH had a friend to sleepover Friday evening and then she had orchestra Sunday morning so she was kept busy without the need for any spending this weekend.

    Hello,

I have today spent 20 minutes on the phone opening a regular e saver account with the Spanish bank at 5% - just need to persuade DH to get one too. I don’t think he will be too happy with all of the info he will have to listen to first but it has to be done.

With the warmer weather earlier in the week I was able to dry the washing outside and then when I put a lighter jacket on to go out I found £15 in the pocket folded up with receipts, must have been there since last year :)

We spent a fair bit yesterday whilst out shopping as hair conditioner, face wipes, Easter eggs and dog biscuits were all on offer so I decided to stock up.
I haven’t replaced the dog jacket lost last week yet, looked yesterday but couldn’t find anything nice for the girls.

Unplanned spend this week of £23 for DD’s end of year school trip. Also bought some very nice mugs on impulse yesterday but these will be going back as they are not really needed, not sure what I was thinking.

A lovely walk at NT property this morning, DH is now at work and will be working overtime again tomorrow.
