Heavy vacuum cleaner from amazon

Hello,
My husband purchased a vacuum cleaner for me a week ago from Amazon. On the sale page, it stated the weight was 8kg, which I can just about manage. However, when it arrived, the main unit was indeed 8kg but it also had a massive 2kg power cable, meaning the whole thing weighed 10kg. Neither me nor my husband, both elderly, can manage to manoeuvre that weight when hoovering.
We complained that the item was not as advertised. The seller simply replied that the vacuum cleaner weight was 8kg with a delivered weight of 11.2kg. But I would argue that, since the vacuum cleaner can't be used without its power cable, that the listed weight should include it. The weight is only relevant to the person pushing it around.
The instruction manual says that the power cable should be fully unwound when used, which would reduce the weight, but (1) it's very long and so fully un-ravelling/re-winding takes ages, and (2) that's not what was said on the sales page. It just said 8kg weight.
I want to return this item, because it is not as described. Do I have a point? Or is it OK for a seller to include only the 'main unit' weight as if it were the full weight?
Thanks for reading!

If you raise your concern with Amazon (I'm assuming you bought from a Marketplace seller) you should be able to get it returned through their 30 day cooling off period, or as a not suitable/as described. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161010
I purchased a very lightweight Vax which is brilliant called an Air Reach.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I started a return process, but the problem is whether the item is as described. The seller says it is (because the main unit weighs 8kg as described, even though this is not the complete item) and therefore he wants me to pay the horrendous return postage. I argue it is not as described, and therefore I should not have to pay return postage.0

How much of the 2kg cable is actually on the machine when in use? Surely most of it is on the floor and at 2kg it must be a lengthy cable.0

That doesn't really matter imo. If the cable is attached (rather than a charging cable like you get for phones or laptops). I'd expect the weight of the cable to be included since its part of the machine rather than an accessory. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Just because the seller claims it is described, doesn't mean it is. Rely on the Amazon returns process.
If you phone Amazon CS you should find them very helpful 0800 496 10810 -

Dragging 2kgs around on top of the 8kgs would make this a very heavy vacuum cleaner to use.0 -
Do you have a link to the hoover? If it's a common one its very likely the listing page is one provided by Amazon.0
