Cash transfer cards - keep 0 balance cards live?

I have two credit cards with £0 balance on both but I have a mortgage reserve account with £7000 at 4% that I wish to transfer (in part or wholly) to 0% cash transfer credit cards. Depending on credit reference agency I have either a very good credit score or a fairly poor credit score because of a small default 4 years ago that I think is not registered with 1 credit reference agency but is with another. So I have to be careful who I apply with. My question is, is it better in terms of the credit reference agency to have credit cards with £0 open - where the use of available credit is very low, or better to have them closed so that I have less credit agreements?

I doubt it would have much effect either way, But if it was me I would probably keep them open as having two credit cards doesn't suggest you have access to too much credit.
Below link might help?

I've got lots of cards. I never close the old ones. If they don't offer me anything they usually close themselves after 2 years.
I currently use 5 credit cards (2xSantander, Capital One, Halifax and Barclaycard) with a very high total credit limit. I also have another 4 on my credit report that aren't currently being used (Nationwide, HSBC, Aqua and RBS). I don't think it makes any difference as I still get approved for more. The latest being Santander.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thanks very much. I think ill just keep them open and close if and when I have obtained new cash transfer cards. Im not too keen on having too many credit cards...just another possible 'ill just stick it on that card opportunity...'!!0
