I just received my booking pack and I have to say I'm a little disappointed by some of the changes for this year.
Not only have they increased the price to £15 for Easter dates (4 night breaks starting 28th March and 4th April) but most sites now have a peak date supplement of £5 per person per break making the minimum cost £20 per person.
Last Easter we went to Haven Thorpe Park and the basic breakdown for 5 people was:
Holiday Cost: £49.75 (inc booking fee)
Service Charge: £31.80 (£7.95 pupn)
Entertainment Passes: £32.50 (£6.50 pppb)
Total Holiday Cost: £114.05
This year it would be:
Holiday Cost: £77.30 (inc booking fee)
Peak Date Supplement: £25 (£5 pppb)
Service Charge: £33.40 (£8.35 pupn)
Entertainment Passes: £40.00 (£8 pppb)
Total Holiday Cost: £175.70
An additional £60 for the same break?
I'm not sure I'll actually be booking this time around0 -
Hi I have used Sun holidays for a few years but have always gone to the same park not far from us on easily available dates. However this year we fancied trying somewhere in France but can't find out what dates will be available. I am restricted as I work in a school but luckily our summer holiday finishes a little earlier than others so according to the advertised dates our first week will be included but there is then the bit 'not all dates at all parks'. I assume the foreign / better parks are harder to get into so want to have a good idea of where to put as soon as I can get the final token! Seems little point applying for places that just aren't available when we need0

Check out the local newspaper holiday offers
http://www.breakfreeholidays.co.uk/local
They are charging £10 pp for those weeks, plus the supplement, entertainment pass and service charges. A potential saving of £25
A link to the pass codes required is near the bottom of page two of this thread.0 -

It's all trial and error I'm afraid.0 -
Hi all, I received my Priority Pack with a letter saying Premium Perks members don't need to collect code words, and booking opens on Sunday 17th - don't no much about Sun Perks but is there any way of joining before 17th Jan or is it too late to collect enough codes? Any help appreciated thanks.
Hi,there's not enough time to collect the 15 Sun Perks codes needed for your Months access before Sunday 17th
As you're priority it might not make any difference as there's no guarantee that Sun Perks members would get to book before Priority members.
I'm both,so will just wait and see which booking office opens first:)0 -

As a priority booker, you only need 9 codewords plus the bonus, so you would be able to collect enough to book on 17th Jan without needing to join Sun Perks.0 -
imagine spending a week at some windswept caravan park with a bunch of sun readers"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

We have had some lovely sun holidays over the years, not a windswept beach in sight.
As for being a sun reader, nope not one of those either. Yes I buy the paper for the sun perks code but the paper goes unread.
Yes we go abroad and have some fabulous holidays, but why spend £300 + on a caravan break when you get the same for less on a sun holiday.
We take breaks in the uk and we take our dog with us so it suits us fine.
Don't knock it until you try it, you might be pleasantly surprised.
This is after all a money saving site is it not?RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten.
