Had a lovely Chistmas Eve with eldest DD and family ,we went to a local new Bella Italia and had a nice meal then back to her house to go to midnight mass.Got to bed around 2.00.a.m. ! Up by 8 and present opening and son-in-law cooked a nice sausage and bacon sarnie, then I drove back to my house and dropped my bits off and picked up several bags of stuff for my youngest DDs family and we had a lovely time opening even more presents then a gorgeous turkey roast with all the trimmings, half an hours snooze then off to eldest Dds again for a big family party .
Home again just after midnight and a night cap then slept like a log until DD woke me with a cuppa about 10,00 !!!.
Just chilling out today and resting and watching a bit of tv as we have a big party in London tomorrow night for my eldest Dds in-laws for their diamond wedding. Hard work all this celebratingGreat fun though, and I feel so lucky to have my family all around me. The boys have been great and we were hoping to have a walk along the beach today at Herne Bay or Westgate but the weather isn't very nice at the moment very wet 'n' windy. hopefully it will brighten up by tomorrow.
<hugs> for those who are not feeling too bright at the moment My thoughts are with you and you were in my chat to the 'big guy'at church
Love to all

Afternoon all,
weather is mild here. No rain but damp underfoot when i went to visit Mom this morning.
Mom is well and in a fairly good mood. Well apart from the bit when she asked to go home. That took a bit of diplomacy i can tell you. No good telling lies either.:( She seemed happy enough with what i told her. She was cold when i got there (they had left her window open) i put a cardigan on her and noticed she's got a dowagers hump.
Youngest has gone out, hubby was sick of me moaning about the stink of rubber and taken his car tyres down the shed and shut himself away in his man cave. Hes been saying for months he needs to sort his sheds out as he cant find anything and finally he is doing it.
Onwards and forwards (and off to do a few neck and spine strengthening exercises, just in case dowagers hump is hereditary)
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi all; I aiten't dead, just been a tad under the weather due to stress (thanks to IDS's benefit reforms, and the 40-page and 20-page interrogations I had to fill out) so I didn't feel a whole lot like posting.
Anyways, I hope everyone's had as good a time as they can, and (very important, this) that all the four-legged family members enjoyed themselves. Someone very kindly gave me a wooden sign to put up saying "Home is where the Dog is".:D
I have been asked to make roast parsnip and Stilton soup for tonight's dins - not done it before, so this could be - er - interesting. Mr LW is going to have to help, as I've banjaxed my wrists again and there's no way I can cut up a parsnip myself. He doesn't mind though.:A
We still have Jack staying - he's here til Wednesday, and he's been super company.
Anyways, enough waffle, I just thought I'd check in.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Lovely to hear from you LW, I hope the form filling is successful. we're having a very quiet day here in the biblical flood belt, rain, rain and more rain being the order of the day.0

Afternoon everyone
Redruby - I'm ok just felt very hurt yesterday morning after buying presents, wrapping them and as dh was ill bought all the special cards too. It was only the morning I was on my own. In the afternoon we went to my in laws and had a really lovely time. Ended up staying home today as dh wasn't well. I nipped to the shops and spent vouchers I got when I left my last job. I bought six crystal champagne glasses which were half price. Tomorrow I drive up north to see my family and will have another Christmas dinner.
Today we are just snacking on leftover bits.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care. Thanks to everyone for their support yesterday.0 -
:santa2: Good afternoon everyone,
topsy and csarina, sorry to hear that people can be so hurtful, but hoping your Christmas break is peaceful and calm.
We had a lovely relaxing day yesterday. There was no pressure as only the four of us. Children got up late!!, DS bought DD a lifesize Hagrid which is standing guard in the sitting room, DD was rather shocked when she saw him:rotfl:
We all had some lovely presents, and the children were pleased with what I got them, so I'm very relieved. DD was very proud of her present to me, she bought me a black Hobbs dress (from the CS) so that when I get invited to Strictly again, I will have something to wear:rotfl:
We ended up having a very late lunch with turkey and all the trimmings, but didn't have our Christmas pudding, so will have it today as our pudding. I am going to make a turkey and leek pie as well and DH has boiled up the turkey carcass and is going to make turkey soup:)
We have had another quiet day, DH and I went for a walk earlier and had a sneaky drink in the local @spoons before walking home.
Just going to chill this evening and probably watch some DVDs.
DH is going back to work tomorrow, and the children will both be going to work as well, so a rather abrupt end to our Christmas.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all. x.

Boxing Day evening wishes to you all.
Had a lovely, quiet and peaceful day yesterday although did get drowned twice sorting the horses out and then walking the dogs. Just absolutely sick of being wet through. Good news is that I have been able to dry off coat, scarf and gloves fairly quickly. The dogs towels are taking some drying.
Wind is howling up here tonight and it has rained non stop all day - although it has pretty much subsided now. The flooding is terrible and I feel so sorry for those poor people who are flooded. A lady in Cumbria said allot of residents had wished it had come back to them because they had lost everything already and did not see it as fair that others now in Lancashire were new victims of the floods! Brave sentiments indeed!
Not done a huge a mount today had a search around on the internet and I nipped into town and got two cushions that I wanted from Laura Ashley for the main bedroom. Chuffed to bits when I got to the till and they were now down to £12.00 each! Also picked up some wrapping paper and cards for next year although I did get some plain pink paper, which can also double up for birthday wrap as well for the grand sum of 75 pence :T
Had another Christmas lunch today and the stripped down the turkey - that will be curried for Monday now. Going to have jacket potatoes and cheese with some coleslaw for tomorrow. Just need a bit of a break from the turkey tomorrow and then Monday it's gone! Got Beef Wellington for New Years Day and thankfully that won't be around for three days either! Just having some simple food fayre inbetween!
Peace, love and light to you all tonight and I hope that those who read this from flood hit areas are given extra strength to see you through this time.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Loving my Christmas but feeling I shall be pleased when things get back to normal and we can eat 'ordinary' food again.
Feel more than a bit bloated and I am hoping we get a dry day tomorrow so we can walk the dogs and get some fresh air.
Tomorrow night another party in London though and I am looking forward to seeing my DDs ma & pa in-laws . Wasn't sure what to buy them for their 60th diamond wedding so decided to give them a voucher for M&S for £60.00 so she can treat themselves to something really nice ,maybe in the sales.Youngset DD and I are going to Dobbies tomorrow morning to see if we can get an appropriate rose or shrub for their garden from her and the boys.
Very hard to know what to buy at that age. She has had her best wishes card from HM Queen and she is so chuffed with that:)
Right just going to make some cocoa as I can hear DGS Ben coming in from his pals where he has been tonight
Sleep well everyone
