We bought a TV from JL where they price matched a small independent shop which also had an online shop (hence how we found it, it was nowhere near us). JL took the details and we believe sent somebody to the shop from a localish JL to see if it was actually on sale in that shop at the advertised price. It was, so we got that price.Make £2025 in 2025

I forgot to add, JL delivery beats everyone else's hands down.
Especially Currys, who either lie about their deliveries (2012, 2015), withdraw orders at will (2007, 2015) or if you are lucky enough to actually have your item on the delivery van, there will still be a chance that the driver will not turn up (July 15). Even then you wil have to beg for a refund. It seems the stores have no influence over the delivery arm of the operation.
No way will I ever go to Currys again, AO are great for electricals. (Except you won't get a price match with JL).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Every John Lewis delivery we've had has been excellent. So friendly and they have always offered to take my deliveries to any room I wanted. Most deliveries, unless they're white goods, leave them just inside the door in my experience.0 -

Having had a fair few (20?) deliveries over the past 6 months or so I think your statement is a bit over enthusiastic.
I've had 2 deliveries were individual items just didn't turn up. Got a "sorry it wasn't in the warehouse". I was pretty much left to ring up and chase things otherwise I doubt I would have got the items. Eventually got them (a bookcase) 3? weeks late. A £500 JL duvet I ordered would need a post the size of War and Peace to do justice to the saga I had trying to get it.
Have to agree the actual delivery people are great.
Also want to point out that I bought a TV priced in the £1000's from JL it was impossible to get John Lewis to do next day delivery despite when I was doing the research every single retailer I spoke to offered free next day delivery as standard. For free delivery from John Lewis you'd have to wait up to 7 days! want it at the earliest possible opportunity? you'll have to wait 2 days and pay £20. Remember all this on a TV worth £1000's.
But it doesn't end there... for free delivery you'll have to accept a delivery slot of 7 hours. Anyone who's rung JL (about anything) will automatically get a pre-recorded message saying that they can't be more specific on delivery times. Thing is that can be more specific they just choose not to be to protect there (no doubt) very profitable timed delivery slots costing £20. Anyone that thinks that delivery drivers use a pencil, scrap of paper and an AtoZ need to wake up. Everything is computerised and there routes are pre-defined. Whereas they can't tell you when they'd be with you within say 10 minutes they could give you a much much more accurate delivery time... John Lewis just choose not to.0
