sale bed faulty and VAT

Hi
I bought an adjustable bed from the shop floor in the sale and didn't check the drawers. It was not sold as 'as seen' just in the sale from the shop floor. When delivered on drawer underneath is jammed shut and unable to open and the other keeps falling off the runners. What is the position for me getting a new bed base from the shop?
Second question, when I was looking at the adjustable beds they spoke about the items having VAT relief as I am long term disabled and they said adjustable beds qualify, however when I chose the one off the shop floor in the sale they refused to take off the VAT, is this correct?, can anyone here advise?
Thanks

The shop should give you a form to complete with proof of your disability and return it to them for a VAT refund (in theory!)Flower8470 wrote: »Hi

I believe you have all the rights as if the bed was ordered in, it makes no difference that it was in the sale, only if it states it was a slight second, so check your paperwork and invoice and get them out to address the problems under your 12 month guarantee.
Have you tried swapping the drawers over as it seems one is tight and the other slack, might not make any difference but worth a try
As for the VAT problem It could be the VAT was already removed (price shown ex VAT) this is common practice in retailing this type of product.0
