Insurer cancelling policy

Just a quickie, as I wont be able to get hold of them before Monday at least, assuming they're open Monday.
Car written off and the policy has paid out.
I'd hope to get a replacement organised, but I've not been able to do so. They were going to continue the policy until my renewal date if I informed them of a replacement car within a month.
As this hasn't happened, I've a 7 day notice of cancellation through the post today.
With "insurance cancelled" being a question insurers ask about, I'm wondering if I can get the policy to be considered completed due to the claim?

Monday is a Bank Holiday.0

Can you not put a car on the policy within a month of the write off date?
It will stop the cancellation and save you money (They will not refund the unused premium0 -
Cancel the policy yourself, that will sort it.0

No refund expected, the policy has done what it was purchased to do.
I just don't want an insurer cancellation on some database somewhere.
I also don't want to say it's me cancelling the policy as there could be extra payments to be met.0 -
Just cancel it yourself.0

So the T&C's involved when you cancel a policy won't count?0 -

What terms?
Just cancel it, you won't be due a refund as they've paid out. Either do it online or by email and send the certificate back.0 -

You are having it cancelled as you no longer have a vehicle to insure, not due to any default.
You are worrying unnecessarily.0 -

£50 to the broker and whatever the insurer wants over and above this for a cancelled policy.0 -
