PIP Awarded but not happy at all

Hi, I have been awarded PIP mobility enhanced rate and according to decision letter it is based on my GPs, and my specialist nurse reports. I am not happy with wording of decision or the award because it is stated I meet the descriptors because "You can stand and then move more than 1 metre but no more than 20 metres either aided or unaided. This gives you a score of 12."
My claim form was sent on Thursday 17th December and the decision letter is dated 21 December. In the claim form I submitted further information 470 words on moving around including having fatigue and pain, about 1 day of every 8 being in bed all or most of day, being a slow walker, walking 800 metres if not participating in other daily activities. I thought I would be a borderline case as my moving around varies. However I do not want to accept the award based on the "You can stand and then move more than 1 metre but no more than 20 metres either aided or unaided".
Wondering now how best to proceed as all information on mandatory reconsideration seems to be pointed towards if you do not get an award.

Why worry about the wording? Surely having a successful claim & award is the main thing? Lots of organisations use a standard set of wordings to cover a multitude of different situations to simplify things. Letters relating to a recipients particular situation are not sent out as it would be an impossible task. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
If you check over various posts from others on here who have tried and failed to get PIPs even though they were backed by multiple letters from various consultants etc you would/should be feeling grateful to have received a benefit which appears to have been designed specifically to fail most applicants......0

If I were you I would be thanking my lucky stars that I got it.
Why is it so important the wording of the letter.
I am sure many people, who deserve the allowance, and have been knocked back, will have no sympathy for you.
Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy spending your allowance.0 -
Just want to make sure I am doing the right thing by accepting the decision. Being grateful or needing sympathy is not on my agenda but the possibility of a mistake by DWP is.0

Well i must admit this is the first time i've ever heard of anyone complaining they been awarded too much...................Hi, I have been awarded PIP mobility enhanced rate and according to decision letter it is based on my GPs, and my specialist nurse reports. I have read many PIP related posts on different forums and did see a similar post as OP but no informative comments and that poster did not want to "rock the boat".0

If you are unhappy about receiving the enhanced rate of the mobility part of PIP simply write and say you want the lower award.
No need to ask for a mandatory reconsideration.
You might want to add why you wasted their time by not clearly stating on the form from the beginning you didn't want enhanced mobility, incase they take the whole award away and you end up at tribunal to get the lower part. As always you should write not phone keeping a copy.Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".0 -

If you didn't want PIP based on your inability to walk more than 20 metres unaided then why apply?
The decision is based on your worst day....not your normal days. Your GP knows your worst days but when going through an assessment it might look like you are better than you are but they can still base the decision on your worst day in a period.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Ah thanks. I phoned to initiate the claim and answered the operators questions. I was then sent the claim form and answered the form as accurately as I could. I answered all the questions as thought it was also possible support for my daily living claim application. I did not see an option to request a standard rate of either. I am content with the decision concerning my award of daily living enhanced rate.0 -
There isn't an option to request a standard or enhanced rate. Which one you get depends on how many points you score for each component.
As other posters have said, be grateful that you have been awarded PIP at the rate you have.0
