Hope you feel better soon Judi
Well the turkey is defrosting.I might cook the gammon later but the DGC are due in half an hour.We dont see them tomorrow but have their present opening on Boxing Day.I have both DS and my DB and family for the meal tomorrow.DH took me to Morries for a few last minute bits,it wasnt that bad,I think we must have got the timing right.I couldnt spend much as DH payment for his last job hasnt cleared yet which is a bit of a pain, especially as it means he cant pay DShis wage.I have some cash we can give him if he wants to go out for a pint with his mates tonight.I'm just hoping the cheque doesn't bounce- the customer in question seems to have been rather extravagant in the run up to Christmas
Windy here and its just bounced down with hail.DH has lit the log burner,at least we have plenty of wood so are cosy.I might make a few more mince pies with DGD,they seem to be disappearing as fast as I make them so I hid some in the freezerEverything is prepped and in the freezer, roasties and veg,so just a case of cooking the turkey tomorrow morning, then heating everything else up.It seems we have an extra 2 now so we'll have to move the table out.
I want to wish everyone who is celebrating,a lovely and peaceful Christmas.I know I haven't posted nearly as much this year while we've been doing this house up but always try and read, and wish you all the best. Thanks for the carols Tru xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon all
Just popping my head in to wish you all a Happy Christmas. And a good 2016.
I see there is some sadness about so ((hugs)) to Csarina & Floss, and anyone else who needs one, and thinking of you Elona. judi it is he who loses out, get well soon.
We have some good news to share here but not on FB, that DDIL is pregnant and we are to become Grandparents late June.
It is our quiet Xmas this year with DS & DDIL at her parents, so we had them here last weekend. Just remembered I've not got any pigs in blankets, so better nip out and see if I can get any locally.
(((Hugs)), Spoons & Positive Vibes all round. Take care everyone

DDs and SIL have come over and are staying for a few days :j
Turkey crown and ham with fancy topping is in the fridge and have bought pigs in blankets, stuffing and loads of veg as well as posh gravy and bread sauce for tomorrow. I still need to fill the stockings for tomorrow.
Gentle hug to csarina and floss and thinking of you.
I had a phone call from the estate agent and the sellers of the bungalow have refused the offer I made but are graciously prepared to leave me carpets and some furniture if I up my offer by eight thousand quid. I declined this wonderful opportunity and repeated what I could pay. Getting fed up with all this malarky.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Csarina and Floss big (((Hugs))) for you both. I hope that you have as good a Christmas that you can in the circumstances. xxxxx
Judi I hope you feel better soon x
Really blustery and rainy day today, We avoided the shops like the plague, don't need anything anyhow. We did it all yesterday, our local Aldi was completely wiped out of everything by the time we got there when DH got home from work at 2.30pm and we ended up going to Sainsbury instead, sadly Aldi is a victim of its own successAnyhow I had £30 on my nectar card so that helped.
We have a Lidl opening here next year, so that should keep them on their toes.
We have no TV over Christmas until the Sky engineer gets here, it took four hours trying to sort things on the phone yesterday, two were foreign with very thick accents and I couldn't understand a word they said, in the end they gave up and said I needed an engineer out because the box has frozen in update mode and it is either the box or the Satelite dish, I think it is the dish because we can't even get freeview on the TV.
To top it all we had a problem with the phone, so they arranged an open reach engineer who was here this morning and put a new socket in, things are much better now and the broadband is a little faster as well
Oh well at least we will not have people arguing what to watch, we do have the small tv in the breakfast room so if they are desperate they can squeeze in there, thank goodness for catch up tv, that we can watch on the computer or the PS3.
They are coming out on Sunday:eek: to try and get it working.
Everything is clean and tidy, most of the food is prepped or cooked so I am going to put my feet up with a nice glass of Baileys
Just in case I don't get on tomorrow, I wish you all a Very Happy Christmas

Gentle hug.
Had a lovely relaxing day with family all around me. Even managed to fill the stockings for the morning.
Had a last minute hiccup when youngest dd announced had I got her pjs for Christmas as hers were too warm? After a bit of a panic because all presents were in boxes and not "squishy" and identifiable she managed to find a box that on shaking did not rattle
so opened it and it was the pjs!!! I had got her two or three mix and match sets and she actually did like them so quite relieved.
Stockings are on the kitchen table for the morning.
Happy Christmas (or as happy as things can be under the circumstances) to everyone."This site is addictive!"
