HBOS quick deposit ATMs

I assumed the ATM in my local branch would count my money and pay it in instantly like the one in Nationwide does....... was a bit surprised when it spat out an envelope and told me to stick my cash in it.

Are these things emptied and processed at the end of each day? Need that money to be in there tonight :(

My local Nationwide does the envelope thing too (there's a poncy machine at the big branch in town that counts the cash immediately, but my local is a tiny tiny branch).

Whenever I've used it, I've got an entry on to the account the next working day, but backdated to the day it was entered.

Know it's a different bank, but hope some use!

:( Damn, looks like it'll be credited tomorrow then.

Anyone know if transfers from a Lloyds TSB business account to a personal one are instant? (ie, really instant, tonight not tomorrow)

Kilty - HBOS have 2 types of machines

    1. ATM - some take deposits and some don't. This is where an envelope comes out, and the cashier has to key to your account, explaining why takes longer to clear. Receipt says how long, its usually a few days. This atm will be opened tomorrow morning and then keyed by cashier (along with about 40 others from today, I'm not joking it was busy)

    2. IDM (Immediate deposit machine) (not every branch has them yet & if they have they usually stop their atm's taking deposits accept outside atm's) - this counts the money there and then and confirms to you on the screen. This is credited to your account immediately

sounds like you have used the atm, so try to use the IDM machine

Could you not just check your available balance online?

    They should be.
Business side of the transaction will be updated overnight but the personal credit should be instant.

Thanks, I'll remember that next time :)

Just borrowed a credit card from my dad this time - had to order some business stationery last night before an offer expired :) It's more than 2x the price this morning
