Afternoon all

Thanks for starting the thread Legomum
All glamour here too Ally :rotfl:
So far today I have:
Fed hens, was rewarded with an egg
We each had a 'home made' egg on toast for breakfast
Galvanised OH and brother into action to help clear the place up a bit ready for lots of visitors over the next couple of days
Tried to walk dog but failed, as it was raining and he wouldn't actually walk :rotfl:
Popped to town to pay in a cheque and dropped some of the many mince pies I made yesterday to the shop where I have my sales unit, as they have nibbles on the counter for customers and dealers
Retrieved the poinsettia from my shelves as I don't want it to die in the cold and dark over Christmas when the shop is closed. I already have one here (cheap ones from Lidls) but will find somewhere for it
Loaf in BM
Made pheasant soup for lunch
Still to do:
Find a nice pot to put the 'other'poinsettia in (and somewhere to put it ) Found the pot but it is still on the dining table - with everything else - at the moment
Water indoor plants (thanks for reminder CLF) and check whether the Christmas tree needs a drink as well
Done
Make Christmas gingerbread stars
Done
Get small items out of freezer for tomorrow - 6 of us at lunch tomorrow
Stuffing, streaky bacon to put over the turkey and pigs in blankets
Cook gammon joint, roast gammon tonight
OH cooked it, as he is brilliant at cooking pork in any form :T
Rescue parsnips that OH dug up yesterday (for some reason he just left them on the plot) Oops they are still out there
Freeze rest of pheasant soup for another day
In the fridge as no space till Boxing Day food comes out tomorrow. Annoyingly, I broke the front of one of the freezer drawers, something was stuck and it has gone brittle over time
Found a new one on ebay, £12.99 but it will fix the problem
I love ebay (as a buyer that is, as a seller not so much!)
More tidying - dining table looks like a jumble sale
Still does - must sort
Wrap a little present for GS1's girl friend, who is joining all the rest of us on Boxing Day (got a little something for not much money from one of the other dealers at work yesterday
) Got as far as finding a little box for it...
Try again on the dog walking front - really strange weather here today, heavy rain one minute and sunny the next Done
If I don't 'see' eveyone over the next couple of days, hope you all have the best possible Christmas / Decemberfest xx0 -
Hello all, thanks for starting Lego Mum
Late check-in from me today. The ex came to see the pooch today (first time in weeks) and brought her some presents (first time ever).
My OH had his stitches out this morning so he's well and truly on the mend after his op
I've avoided all shops today!
Checked FPL and banking
LSD as we booked tickets to finally see Star Wars in IMAX on New Year's Eve
I'm very lucky to have spent the day asleep/ watching box sets and Christmas films

Hi all, Happy Christmas Eve.
I didnt get to bed till 2.30am and blimey I am tired - I was at work this morning too. DS1 went out with some friends and one of them drove to the next town to visit some other friends. DS wanted to come home (he was supposed to be home by 11pm) but was stuck there until everyone else wanted to leave. He kept texting me to tell me he was OK and to say sorry for worrying me. I didnt get any sleep until he came in.
Ahh for the days when they kept me awake because they were excited about Santa!!!
Well, everything is ready. I called at Li@l for some more milk on the way home and resisted the temptation to buy any more food!
Now all I have to do is resist the sales over the next week. Although I could do with a pair of navy blue trousers for work. Happy Christmas everyone x0 -
Hi all,
The weather is howling a gale outside. For once it's not snowing, yet. We're all set for our weekend of festivities at home. Keeping it modest this year, being from another tradition I don't really celebrate Christmas but we'll have a nice meal and a few wee gifts.
* Hoping to be well enough for free ParkRun tomorrow.
* Exchanging greetings with family and friends via Facebook for free.
* House is decorated with pine cones and berries. We collected the cones from the local forest last year.
* Exchanged novelty gift with wife. I gave her a mini jar of Marmite, she gave me a pair of gloves. As a joke I get gloves every year. I actually need gloves, I wear them out quickly.
