Sophos antivirus for Windows - any experience?

Anybody have any experience using Sophos's free antivirus for Windows?

I've been using Avast for a while now (AVG before) and slowly getting more and more fed up with it as more and more bloatware is added. Sophos have a pretty good name in the security business, just wondering how their antivirus performs.

I've just installed it a couple of weeks ago.

As the video says, it seems basic. As far as I can tell, it doesn't work with an email client to scan emails which might be an issue for some.

But it hasn't done anything to annoy me yet.

I don't have any easy way to tell whether or not it's doing a good job of catching malware.

Perhaps worth adding that it's not for commercial use.

It doesn't look as if Sophos has performed particularly well in AV Comparatives Real-World Protection Test, August to November 2015 - sixteenth out of twenty one products tested.

Having said that, no one a/v is going to provide 100% protection so even the best should be considered as just part of a structured security regime.
