Mobile phone not fit for purpose

I'm trying to get a refund for a mobile that I purchased in April, three months later many functions had stopped working so I took it to be repaired under warranty, it came back still displaying some faults so I send it in again, it was then replaced with a new handset which has started to display the same issues, so I want to return it on the basis that it is not fit for purpose......the store are being very awkward and sending me emails that look as though they haven't read my email properly - one even referred to a camera instead of a phone!
Any advice greatly appreciated, I paid using barclaycard if that's any help

Within the first 6 months the store have to prove that its your fault otherwise they have to repair, refund or replace the item. But it's at their discretion which they do.0
