#56 with an initial August figure of £2,551.13.

Hoping to add at least £61 to that by the end of the month to break into another thousand mark. ;)

I'm also struggling a bit with the target, I'm slipping behind a bit and it's hard to see where i'll make up the shortfall over the last four months in the year, but I console myself with the thought that it was always going to be a big ask to get there and even getting close is pretty good going

I've slipped behind and am starting to wonder if I'm likely to reach target... will have to hope for a bit more spare cash in the final quarter of the year.

Yep, this is pretty much us.
Target was over zealous to start with
Change in employment means its now near on impossible.

But it spurs me on to squeeze extra where I can when we possibly wouldn't have if we were on track.

We didn't make last years target either but gave it a dang good go!

Still plenty of 2016 left and who knows what's around the corner money-wise

More than I expected. still not enough to turn us green.
We're halfway through our 2016 target which is better than I'd hoped.

    Thanks Lomcevak.

    Happy Sunday everybody

  • No 46 reporting in for the month.

A slight change of plan. We are looking to build an extension, so from now on I shall also report savings as well as overpayments - just to keep me motivated.

I'm going to keep on with the standard overpayments but extras might go to the savings...haven't quite agreed it in my mind yet, so things may change.

    Anyway this month's position is...

O/Pd £335.22. Total overpayment for the year is £2609.85 - 74.5% of the target.
If i continue with the standard O/P each month i shall achieve 111.93% of target - so not bad!.
Savings for the month -so far - £800

Let's see how this plan works out....might change but who knows...
    Thanks Lomcevak

  • #31 with an overpayment of £200

Don't think we'll hit target this year. Decided on focusing on clearing our debts and we're now officially debt free :j This meant over payments this year of £2000 towards that which would have been for the mortgage, but as the interest rates on the loans were higher it seemed like the logical thing to do. It does mean we'll be about £300 a month better off but I used some savings to clear the debt so need to top up that over the next few months. Going to keep the target as is for now in the hopes I can somehow still manage to hit it!

    £201.44 for number 92 please :)

That should be bumped up towards the end of Aug by a few accounts that pay interest later in the month, cashback clearing etc. After that though....baby comes next month! So while we are ahead of schedule right now, we will probably drop down in terms of monthly amounts for the last quarter of the year as my wage is the main income so things are going to be tight. Still aiming for my target though :)

Another tenner, following a random account interest payment.

I'm finding it difficult too, possibly because of my reduced hours at work, a massive car bill just before our holiday, and having to cope with kids who suddenly have growth spurts just after I've bought them new clothes.

I think I'm going to have to increase my hours at work soon, but with an undiagnosed chronic mystery illness this doesn't seem possible.

I won't decrease my target as I want to be able to reach it. Still got 4 months to smash it!!
