Spreadsheet updated - almost at the £300k mark nowTwentySomethingGirl wrote:Probably going to miss our target for the year but have been funnelling money into savings, which is about to be spent on quite a nice holiday...
Sounds like a good idea to me - mortgage OPs are great but unless there's urgent financial need then they need to be balanced with other things in life. I'm probably going to undershoot my target this year too, for just the same reasonA_Frayed_Knot wrote: »:T another ocd'r:D :T
That's me too - I'll usually have a rummage down the back of the sofa if there's a chance to go past a milestone (although i'd usually go for the extra penny to make it xxx99.99  )0 -

Its up to you if you want to add me to your spreadsheet as I have already hit my 10% cap for the year.
My target was £10,000.
Hi lincoln-potter - it's up to you really!
Usually the target is there as group motivation to reach a goal over the rest of the year rather than to track what you've already done, but there aren't really any hard and fast rules. If you are limited by your mortgage OP cap then we have a fair other people who also have various constraints on what or how they can overpay, and so count things like savings to offset or OP later, so if you'd like to join in you could always track those - doesn't have to just be actual overpayments.0 -
#90 reporting an OP of £497.19 for May and another £497.19 for June. I'm a bit further behind target than I'd planned to be at this point in the year, but then again have had some marvelous holidays! Great to see the progress you're all making, keep it up.2021 MFW #130. Target: £300/£25000

Hi Lomcevak,
I'm going to have to put my target on hold for now
There have been rumours flying around about cash flow problems at work and one or two things make me think there might be some truth in it so im going to use any spare funds to up my emergency fund for a while as there's not nearly enough in it to make me feel comfortable
Hope to join again when things settle and good luck to everyone with their targets x0
