Joint bank account

We are looking for a joint bank account to pay household bills and mortgage. It won't have our salary going into it.

Please could you suggest a joint account which hopefully has something like cash back or perks.

Thank you

Only two meet your stated criteria of cashback on bills, Santander 1-2-3 and NatWest. More details here...

  • We had four joint accounts but now operating five:

Santander 123 for interest on joint savings and cash back on qualifying direct debits
Halifax Reward for £5 per month
Nationwide Flex Plus costs £10 a month but offset by getting 3% interest on £2.5k and provides good worldwide travel, mobile phone and breakdown insurance for us both
TSB Plus - 5% on £2k plus £5 per month contactless cash back

Recently opened the Nat West account and moving the direct debits across from Santander for a higher cash back rate.

Need to decide whether to keep the Santander for interest on £20k when the fee goes up or if we can spread that money across non fee paying accounts

If you are moving all your DDs from Santa to Natwest, you won't get any more interest for the 123.

At the moment only moving the cash back qualifying direct debits with non qualifying remaining on the 123.

Always got Tesco as back up anyway to ensure interest was paid.

Comes down to the ease of 3% on £20k but with a £60 a year cost against saving the fee but splitting the joint savings across more new accounts!

So have First Direct stopped doing cashback?

They never did cashback on bills.

Yes I does pay 3% on up to £3000 and once you have it set up online, it's easy to use but, it takes a while to set up.

I got my card today, I applied about 3 weeks ago.
