Hi all,
I'm now disabled and cannot carry out a lot of my own matters.
Over the years I have had a few loans, bank accounts and credit cards.
I am not in a position to search everything, so was wondering, if there is a recommended firm/person, that people like me can approach, for help ?
I realise that its better to do it ourselves, and of course I don't want to get ripped off by financial institutes,,,, or the firm.

To be blunt - your financial details are not in the public domain, a claims firm will not be able to tell you whether you have a valid claim or find out details of these products so you will still have to search it yourself before they can act - and if you can do that, submit the claim yourself.
One of the myths CMCs propagate is that they have special status or powers and don't make it clear that you still have to do all the work while all they do is have a minimum wage temp record what they think you said over the phone and then send in a generic complaint to everyone you ever had a product with demanding money based on various lies / half-truths from firms you may not even have had PPI with (a typical CMC letter might allege both that you didn't know you had PPI and that you were pressured to take PPI with the product - an obvious fallacy).
Do it yourself for free as you'll end up doing all the work anyway with a CMCSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
