Natwest Webcam nightmare!

Options
Had my Natwest student account for two months now. I opened it online so I could get the free webcam in addition to the railcard that's being offered.

So my welcome pack came through AND no webcam application form! (But I got the railcard one at least)

I've tried to sort this out twice in the past month but to no avail. Now I'm really annoyed. The branch say my account was opened centrally, the student support line says it was opened by the branch. Is someone passing the buck here? Supposedly I'm going to phone the student line back tomorrow and speak to their team leader 'Paula'.

This is totally unacceptable that a product they should've provided me over a month ago as part of the deal that I open an account with them has not arrived.

Can anyone advise me on how to get my webcam from these 'people'?

I think in order to qualify for the webcam offer, you have to apply for the student account over the internet- is that what you did?
  • Yup, applied over the internet.

My webcam took about 2 months to arrive and I didn't need to fill out an application form, I upgraded my account in may.

My son has the railcard application form and on it there is a box to tick to get the webcam sent.

They apparently had some problems when they first started and they were sending welcome packs intended for people who applied in a branch to those who applied online.

This happened to me so I phoned up the student department and they took down my name and address and I had forgotten all about it until a webcam showed up a couple of months later. So try phoning the actual student department up the number can be found on the letter in the welcome pack.

Does anyone have that number to call because I applied online and got the form which didn't include the webcam tick box.

The number you need to ring is 0191 501 3806 which will get you through to the Natwest Student Centre.

We had delays with the railcard and webcam. Had to ring several times and resend the railcard online application, but it all arrived after 2 months. They automatically sent a new railcard for this year.
